2112 isn't a concept album.

Thank God they found their energy again and unleashed that fine "Train of Thought" album (derivative as well but ... meaty!).

Apart from that: Misplaced Childhood of course. And The Wall. And DSOTM and Clutching at Straws (are they concept albums?)

According to Fish,"Clutching At Straws" is not a concept album. Some of the songs are thematically linked with a thread of alcohol abuse but it's still not a concept album.

What a fantastic list! The Lamb is certainly the greatest for me.

I can't really comment on the 2 albums in the poll because I'm not a fan of either

The whole thing about CTTE being a concept album confused me: mind you, Jon Anderson's lyrics are so esoteric it can mean anything you want it to
And Jesus said unto John, "come forth and receive eternal life..."
Unfortunately, John came fifth and was stuck with a toaster.

  1. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
  2. 666
  3. Quadrophenia
  4. Tales of Mystery and Imagination
  5. Spartacus
  6. The War of the Worlds
  7. Six Wives of Henry the VIII
  8. Pictures at an Exhibition
  9. Darwin! (Banco del Mutuo Soccorso)
  10. Thick as a Brick
  11. Tales from Topographic Oceans
  12. Revolutions (Magenta)
  13. Illusions on a Double Dimple
  14. Dark Side of the Moon (Well, semi conceptual at least)
  15. The Wall
  16. I Robot
  17. Heaven & Hell (Vangelis)
  18. Myths and Legends of King Arthur...
  19. Peter & The Wolf (Brand X plus Bruford, Eno, etc)
  20. Days of Futire Passed

IMHO the two mentioned are in a minor league.

Among those two I've voted for Scenes - really great album! (The only great album by DT though... IMO).

Operation is also delicious

In all fairness to Queensryche, "Operation Mindcrime" also tells a story,it's definitely a concept album, albeit a bloody awful one.

2112 is a great one. how about The Wall?  Marbles is an album I'd consider a concept album that I enjoy

Sorry Mr argue the toss Swinton...But you'll find 'Close' is classed as a concept album no matter what you think & i'll stick my neck out & say Yes were the band that defined the meaning of concept album.

The thought of listening to Queensryche makes my toes curl.

I'd rather lick the floor of an abattoir.

I must remind the right honourable gentleman that a monologue is not a decision.
