I can't think of any bad bands
There is something good in all music, even Dream theater isn't all bad

I'm with Useful here.Rick's solo output, with the exception of Six Wives,is just plain embarrassing. Journey TTCOTE and Arthur make me laugh out loud too!
RichardH:
It is a testimony to the eclectic nature of Progressive Rock that some of the "big-hitters" are disliked by many of the members. It is a matter of taste. Why should it be unacceptable to dislike Rush,ELP and Genesis, but OK to hate Dream Theater,Triumvirat and Amon Duul?

My major dislikes at the moment are The Mars Volta (what a racket!),Jethro Tull (hey nonnie-nonnie) and Echolyn (much ado about nothing?). i dont say they are the worst, but surely picking the worst is the same as picking your least favourite,so I would add Dream Theater and Magma to that list.
This is personal opinion ie,my taste.

Although I agree with Dream Theater,to include ELP,Genesis and Rush is laughable. Why do you bother even coming here?

- IQ
- Styx
- Rush
- Mostly Autumn
- Kansas
Dream Theater, Enchant, Jadis, Landmarq, Arena, Symphony X, Triumvirat... may also "qualify", but I haven't listened to them enough to tell.

Hey Useful Rick Wakeman's solo career? What about:
- Six Wives of Henry the VIII
- Myths and Legends
- Journey to the Centre of the Earth
- No Earthly Connection
- Criminal Record
That 5 albums are outstanding, I know he has a lot of boring New Age, but he has other good albums too IMHO.

Six Wives is decent, but I would never proclaim it outstanding. I do know that Journey to the Center of the Earth made me laugh out loud, and that kinda made me lose faith in Rick.

well... i don't know that many non-famous prog bands (even among prog fans). I'm sure a lot of the artists included on the archives are really bad, but i've never heard them.

Magenta is a matter of taste, some poeople love them, others hate them, that's natural
My votes:
- Asia
- Styx (From the progressive perspective, but they had good non prog stuff)
- GTR
- Three
- Jon Anderson's solo career (Booooooring)
Iván
PS: Isn't it funny to notice that almost all the people with an ELP related avatar hate Triumvirat? Not offence please, only noticed it.
|
GTR? that's too easy: they don't have 5 albums!

Ivan...I missed the 1 in front of 25.... .
Starcastle had some great songs but was slaugthered by the midia as Yes clones (unfair) just like Triumvirat with the ELP clone stamp.

Hey Lunar, Rick has more than 125 albums, and I agree some are fantastic.
