Topic: Website slow Posted: February 15 2005 at 13:47 |
The last few days the Archives have been very slow to load and update.Sometimes IE does not load the site before being timed out.I have a very fast connection, so this is unusual. Is this down to work being done on the site or are there other unknown reasons?

RL,
Just for info, I've not had any problems with it, performance has been the same as normal. Maybe your ISP?

I have noticed the site is marginally slower loading of late, and it was 'off the air' yesterday for a while.

I could not even reach the site for about an hour in my favourite direct link and by Googgle either but it was fine by the end of the day. I am so used to small bugs like those , I don't really pay attention anymore.
This slow loading might be due to excessive traffic...

It's so unusual for this site that I think it's worth mentioning. On a couple of occasions recently I haven't been able to access the site at all - and it's seemed flaky once I've got in.

Maybe it's the change to RATINGS algorithm for :
- KEY ALBUMS
- TOP 50 albums
- Suggestion albums By style
Do you feel the forum is slower too ?

No the actual forum itself is not slower.Just getting on to the site itself is occasionally difficult.

On a couple of recent occasions forum pages have taken longer to load than I would expect - sometimes not at all, and I've had to reload the website from the front page.
It's been fine yesterday and today though

I haven't encountered any difficulties the last two days, but it appears to be bit slower, maybe just my imagination though.
