The One That Got Away 6 episodes
A BBC Wales crime drama (so called ''Cymru Noir'') starring stalwat Welsh actor Richard Harrington (Hinterland) and Elen Rhys (The Mallorca Files). Some very nice writing and acting. Highly enjoyable. 8/10

Patience Season 1 6 episodes
Another crime drama but this one centering on the problem solving skills of autistic police archivist Patience Evans. She helps detective Bea Metcalf not only to solve cases but provides insights into her own challenges with her special needs son. Incredibly well acted by Ella Maisy Purvis (herself autistic) as Patience and Laura Fraser as Bea, this is a great buddy cop series with a twist. 9/10

Severance

Orwellian future-shock about a corporation that requires employees to split their conscious memories between their work-life and their personal life.   An ex-employee who has overridden his bifurcation implant begins to approach department head Mark (Adam Scott) in his outside life, causing a schism in Mark that grows more prevalent.   When a defiant employee (Britt Lower) decides she doesn't like the arrangement and Mark starts to question the life they've chosen, things go badly.   Beautifully produced, tense, disturbing, Severance is a sophisticated drama with plenty of Phillip K. Dick on hand.

"Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."   -- John F. Kennedy
