I once said to a member, who as it turned out was a fan of both, that I'm a fan of Deerhunter (for 2010's Halcyon Days) but did not know Dear Hunter. Anyway, i did check out some of that Dear Hunter album now and enjoyed "The Beginning". While I like lots of modern music, I have been neglectful of an awful lot of popular in PA post-70s music.

If to be quite serious, I still like Hunky Dory and find it worth to have in my very selective collection.

I gave my vote to Dear Hunter - Act V from this list. Lots of other good options though, like Bent Knee, Seven Impale, Universal Totem Orchestra.

My absolute favourite from this year though is Lian by Ricinn.

Other favourites not on this list:
Ritual by Fire! Orchestra,
SAMEN by Öoooooooo,
A Man Alive by Thao and the Get Down Stay Down
The Holographic Principle by Epica
Teens of Denial by Car Seat Headrest

^You're back! At least it seems like the forum has missed you for a while, I might be mistaken though. Smile
Nevermind, I have to vote Marillion as well.

even the production is rather awful and especially of the drums

After some new listenings, I can live better with the production, and the music is otherwise definitely impressive, and I enjoy it a lot.
