Santana had a knack for that too - making songs sound like their own and improving on the original IMO - in particular 'Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen', 'She's Not There', and possibly also 'Going Home'. |

My late friend, John Goodsall (Brand X etc.), did a nice cover of King Crimson's "Red"! RIP Johnny, we miss you!

i think it was a good cover since the band GHOST does a lot of satire on taboo subjects like Genesis did in their time. I listen to Genesis' version more but when I hear Ghost's version I still enjoy it.

I love the Japanese psychedelic rock/ psych folk band Ghost, but the Swedish Hard Rock, AOR, Heavy Metal band Ghost is out of my comfort zone. So tempted to do a Ghost vs. Ghost topic, but I shall resist. Welcome to the forum, nice to have you here. :) Edited by Logan - December 06 2024 at 10:36 |

I prefer Snakefinger's cover version of the United States Of America's original version of "The Garden Of Earthly Delights". Whereas the United States Of America's version is very psychedelic, Snakefinger's version is quite sinister: Snakefinger - The Garden Of Earthly Delights United States Of America - The Garden Of Earthly Delights |

^Snakefinger also did a cover version of Ennio Morricone's "Magic And Ecstasy" from the movie "Exorcist II: The Heretic". Snakefinger - Magic And Ecstasy Ennio Morricone - Magic And Ecstasy |

I always liked this cover of a Beatles song that Phil Collins recorded on his first solo LP!

In 1974, Bryan Ferry delivered an awesome cover of Dobie Gray's
classic track The ‘In’ Crowd. Ferry transformed this 1964 R&B tune
into a standout piece of mid-70s art rock! |

Steve Hillage totally blistering it with his space-rock-style cover
of It's All Too Much, a classic acid-rock song by The Beatles that
first dropped on their 1969 soundtrack for the Yellow Submarine flick. |

Speakeasy Club playing a standout progressive cover of the blues classic
