Moving on to 2006! You already know the drill, leave a vote as well as your additional preferences for that year, many albums are naturally missing from the ten-entry polls done here. A good year for sure, with a couple of interesting releases by great bands (as well as a couple not so brilliant ones). Albums with the most votes from the previous polls: 2000: Porcupine Tree - Lightbulb Sun 2001: Tool - Lateralus 2002: Porcupine Tree - In Absentia 2003: Anekdoten - Gravity 2004: Ayreon - The Human Equation https://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=133952&PID=6162358#61623582005: Porcupine Tree - Deadwing |

Oh, such an easy choice..... the Vanden Plas is for me, one of the very best Prog Metal albums of that decade, let alone year!

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Blood Mountain. One of my favorite releases from 2006: Celtic Frost - Monotheist. Prog-Adjacent for sure.

I'll have to take a rain check on this poll as I don't know any of these albums.

^ Sorry, but Mastodon aren't my cup of tea at all. I'll go back to listening to Burt Bacharach.
