This is the second poll includes 25 other favourite albums from 25 other acts with a French connection (released or founded in France) from the 1970s. Sorry if you don't favour my album choices from the acts or my choices of acts regardless of album.

There are over 60 albums listed below, 25 were in part one, and one another 25 are in part two. Those with an asterisk are in part one and those with a pound symbol are in part 2 (i.e this poll).

Jean-Pierre Alarcen - Tableau N° 1 (1979)
# Ange - Au-delà du délire (1974)
# Arachnoïd - Arachnoïd (1979)

# Carpe Diem - En regardant passer le temps (1975)
# Clearlight - Clearlight Symphony (1975)
* Clivage - Mixtus Orbis (1978)
* Cortex - Troupeau bleu (1975) (not in PA, but relevant)
# Pascal Duffard - Dieu est Fou (1976)
# Etron fou leloublan - Batelages (1977)
* Serge Gainsbourg - Histoire de Melody Nelson (1971)
* Gong - You (1974) (Gong formed in France even if "multinational")
* Alain Goraguer - La planète sauvage (1973)
Jean-Philippe Goude & Olivier Colé - Jeunes Années (1976)

* Heldon - Stand By (1979)

Malicorne - Malicorne (1975)
* Gerard Manset - La mort d'Orion (1970)
# Memoriance - Et après... (1976)
* Moving Gelatine Plates - The World of Genius Hans (1972)
* Janko Nilović - Rythmes contemporains (1974) (not in PA, but very relevant jazz fusion, imo, who moved to France in 1960)
# Pentacle - La Clef des Songes (1975)
# Richard Pinhas - Chronolyse (1978)
* Plat du jour - Plat du jour (1977)
# Pulsar - The Strands of the Future (1976)

* William Sheller - Lux Aeterna (1972)
# Shylock - Gialorgues (1977)

# Zed - Visions of Dune (1979)
ZNR - Barricade 3 (1976)

Please vote for up to five (or more is you really want to) and mention those, and feel free to mention other favourites.

It's not a contest and the posts mean more to me than just the votes themselves. I know say with Magma in part one, more would go with, say, MDK or Udu Wudu, and I really like those (and have a very extensive Magma collection), but I adore the debut.

Hi,

I still have all these ... and love them all. Here's a couple more (haven't seen the 2nd list!)

Mona Lisa
Alan Stivell ... though a Breton considered a Frenchman is probably an insult?
Dan Ar Braz
Pierre Henri
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

^ I do also like Mona Lisa (one of the earlier French bands I got into) and Pierre Henry. Those did come to mind as I made the list. As well as Urban Sax. If I do an 80s one or two, then Pierre Henry & Urban Sax's Paradise Lost will be there (unless I forget, which is very possible. I also forget that I have forgotten that which I forget which I forgot, or something like that, I forget).

Yes, this selection is a much better match with me:

Ange - Au-delà du délire (1974)
Atoll - L'araignée-mal (1975)
Clearlight Symphony (1975)
Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygène (1976)

                      quality over quantity, and all kind of PopcoRn almost beyond

Went with Ange, Atoll, and Carpe Diem. For Emmanuel Booz, I like his Dans quel état j'erre album the most - might even be in my top 5 French prog albums. There are too many denominators and not enough numerators in my cookie box.

JMJ (don't know any others). I've added about 4 or 5 albums to my streaming service and having a listen to Tim Blake at the moment (didn't he play with Mike Oldfield?) . Great stuff!

Voted for Oxygene. Phenomenal album.

^ Oh, no worries. I like all of those albums too.

If I were to do a post-70s one, then I would want to include:

Abus dangereux - Le quatrième mouvement
Dün - Eros
Eider stellaire - s/t
Eskaton - 4 Visions
Hellebore - Il y a des jours
PinioL - Bran coucou
PoiL, well PoiL Ueda with Yosh*tsune
Rahmann -s/t
Shub-Niggurath - Les morts vont vite
Taal - Mister Green or Kymind (been a long time since I listened to those)
Volapük - Polyglöt or Where Is Tamashii?

And if covering acts covered in a 70s poll, I'd want Magma and Art Zoyd for a post 70s album... I'd go with Le mariage du ciel et de l'enfer or Génération sans futur from Art Zoyd and Ëmëhntëhtt-Ré for Magma.

But then I'd want to do it in General Music Discussions to also include:

Air
Matt Elliott (if including someone who moved to France)
Melody's Echo Chamber
Natural Snow Buildings
Noir Désir
St Germain
Yann Tiersen
TwinSisterMoon
