In what concerns to me I accept your apologies. As a newbie it can be understandable. But this isn't the first time that happened with some other users. So, I beg that the users avoid that.
So, I think a review per day would be the better thing to do. I myself, being a very prolific reviewer and having many reviews to pulish, I only publish two or three per weak. It's nice to have diversity in the front page of the reviews. Besides, that is mainly a bad thing to the reviewer because I think no one have patience to read 30 or 40 reviews of the same reviewer. And the reviews of the other users disappear without time to be read. So, again, apologies accepted and welcome to the site, buddy.

I didn't mind, Scott: I found it quite fun and entertaining while wondering where you got the list you used to generate the 100. Also, I rather enjoy and appreciate your disctinctive, clear, and thorough form/format and style! I look forward to your next 100! Welcome to the site!
P.S. Your list really begged the question: Is PA the only place that recognizes Jazz-Rock Fusion as a form/expression of progressive rock music? |

Probably, although I don’t know for sure. In the much the same way, nobody else knows what on Earth “crossover” or “eclectic” prog mean, totally fabricated “sub-genres”.

Aren't all subgenres " fabricated". The terms "crossover" and "eclectic" describe the music better than the subgenre they came from formerly - "art-rock".

It came from Prog Magazine, and I believe it's about 10 years old from when it was first published. They re-published it in a special issue a little over a year ago. I saw it and thought it'd be a fun challenge to listen to all of them and invited others to do so with me on Facebook. I finished a few weeks ago, and recently thought I'd put them up here with some minor edits here and there. The lowest ones on the list didn't get put up, because the reviews weren't written that well. But I developed a style and wanted to share it here. I didn't mean to start all THIS! lol. Here is a link to a Facebook post I made about it: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/vKBwJHKhN8Yb7cVJ/?mibextid=oFDknk As to your other question, I'm not sure about other online forums, but i know Prog Magazine occasionally includes some fusion, but it's not the main focus. I remember an article on Snarky Puppy not long ago. I use the site frequently; I just only occasionally post on the forum these days. I am more often on Facebook rather than bulletin board type forums these days. I put hashtags in my signature on here now which link to the posts from the countdown, and the two new projects I have begun, which are not exclusively prog, but will probably be MOSTLY prog as I go along. Thanks to you and everyone else here who has shown support. Edited by yarstruly - September 17 2024 at 07:36 |

I'm one of those pushed off from the home page. Not a problem for me, but the artist who asked me to review his albums was quite pissed off. Anyway, I'm not here to be featured on the home page. If it was so, I would have used my real name instead of a nick. Post as much as you like when you like.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

^ and i think you hit the very point why it's not a good idea to flood the top 50 with saved up reviews It's not about the reviewer, it's about the artists and albums being reviewed I review a lot of albums just to get them more attention This was a one off so no biggie Guess i can tackle those 500 new Buckethead albums now and flood the homepage (function(){function c(){var b=a.contentDocument||a.contentWindow.document;if(b){var d=b.createElement('script');d.innerHTML="window.__CF$cv$params={r:'8c5146ff4efa981e',t:'MTcyNjY2MTg5My4wMDAwMDA='};var a=document.createElement('script');a.nonce='';a.src='/cdn-cgi/challenge-platform/scripts/jsd/main.js';document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(a);";b.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(d)}}if(document.body){var a=document.createElement('iframe');a.height=1;a.width=1;a.style.position='absolute';a.style.top=0;a.style.left=0;a.style.border='none';a.style.visibility='hidden';document.body.appendChild(a);if('loading'!==document.readyState)c();else if(window.addEventListener)document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded',c);else{var e=document.onreadystatechange||function(){};document.onreadystatechange=function(b){e(b);'loading'!==document.readyState&&(document.onreadystatechange=e,c())}}}})();< style=": ; top: 0px; left: 0px; border: medium none; visibility: ;" width="1" height="1">

But, Jaime! How am I supposed to track all of the albums I attend to each week: in some kind of queue? And how do I contain my enthusiasm for the amazing music that's out there that I've yet to discover--not to mention the hundreds of new albums published each year? If I published only two or three reviews per week, I'd only get to share my enthusiasm (and opinions) 130 times per year, which would only allow me to have accrued 2210 reviews to this point of my stay on ProgArchives. . . . Oops. . . . I'm at 2206. . . . Guess I'm right on track! Never mind! |

I don't often visit the front page very often, to be honest. I'm a forum guy. One thing that might help for displaying the reviews is a forum "Latest reviews" topic where reviewers who also are forum members post their reviews of the day. Preferably with a link to the album on PA (or/and not on PA perhaps). That would add at least add some greater visibility, and I like to see more ways of keeping records....
