Skipping Q for now, will combine it later with some less "popular" for my collection letters.

This time I only included ones in the poll that are included in PA. I did skip some of my favourites for some more popular options but I have been into every band in the list at one time.

--------------------------

Here is my longer list.

Rachel's
Radiohead
Ragnarök (Sweden)
Rahmann
Rascal Reporters
Rational Diet
Reale Accademia di Musica
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Red House Painters
The Red Masque
Regal Worm
Los Relámpagos
Renaldo and the Loaf
Renaissance
The Residents
Return to Forever (including Chick Corea's Return to Forever album & with Return to Forever)
The Revolutionary Army of the Infant Jesus
Rhesus O
Rhůn
Catherine Ribeiro (+ 2 Bis, + Alpes)
Terry Riley
Steve Roach
The Rolling Stones
Monika Roscher (Monika Roscher Bigband)
Rouge Ciel
ruído/mm
Ruins
Runaway Totem
Emma Ruth Rundle
Rush
The Rutles
Terje Rypdal

-----------------------

Again, if you appreciate anything in the list, please vote for three in the poll, or more, or less, and please mention those. Additionally, I encourage people to mention what they like that is not in the poll. It's not a contest and the 25 I listed simply are 25 that I have enjoyed. And feel free to vote with limited knowledge. Thanks.

And if you are really confident that I should have added something that I did not to the poll, rate me R for rancid.

So please mention whatever Proggy other Rs you like, be it Riverside, Rainbow, Royal Hunt, a bit of The Rolling Stones as well as mentioning anything you like in the poll if applicable.

Here are the past polls: 28 "P" List Acts & 27 "O" List Acts & 27 "N" List Acts & 25 "M" List Acts & 25 "L" List Acts & 25 "K" List Acts & 25 "I and J" List Acts & 25 "H" List Acts & 29 "G" List Acts & 26 "F" List Acts & 25 "E" List Acts & 26 "D" List Acts & 25 "C" List Acts & 25 "B" List Acts & 25 "A" List Acts

By the way, thanks to all for their comments throughout this series.

Renaissance, Rhun, Riley.
I prefer the spin off Universal Totem Orchestra to Runaway Totem

I won't choose more than three, but this doesn't mean that i dislike Rush, Roach, Rypdal and the Stones
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Had to go for five on this one, Greg:

Renaissance, RTF, Terje Rypdal, Terry Riley, and Rational Diet though I also like Radiohead, Catherine Ribiero, Rascal Reporters, Reale Accademia di Musica, and Regal Worm.

I would, personally, have included Riverside, Todd Rundrgren, The Reticent, Returned To The Earth, Hania Rani, RanestRane, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, Patrice Rushen, Radio Massacre International, The Roches, and maybe even RPWL, Roxy Music and Rain Tree Crow on my own list.

Radiohead & Renaissance. I was tempted to vote just for these two as the next ones are quite a bit behind, but then decided to give the Residents the third vote, even though they are very much hit and miss for me.

I think they were one of a kind and brilliant for about ten years, and have been largely uninteresting, bordering on awful for the next forty. I've seen them live twice as well. I don't know why on earth I gave them that second chance, but they won't get a third.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Thanks for all of the replies.

A preview of acts that I will be choosing from for the S poll. It is one of the more popular letters in my collection. It is again missing various fairly popular Prog or possibly prog choices like Spock's Beard and Symphony X, but then choosing 25 is an almost ridiculous exercise even just based on personal tastes for the well-listened, and I encourage others to list what they like as well as choosing from my lists.

I do favour that which has excited me the most in my recent years, so that narrows it down considerably and I will try to make it more on the Prog side even if not all are in PA. For instance, Sufjan Stevens is a no-brainer for me, and I have been very into St. Vincent over the past year. Ones like Spirogyra, Schulze, Stringtronics and Supersister are perennial favourites for me. And of course my beloved Stereolab, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Swans etc.

Buffy Sainte-Marie
Salle Gaveau
Samla Mammas Manna
Santana
Konomi Sasaki
Saturnia
Satwa
Karl Heinz Schäfer
Lalo Schifrin
Klaus Schulze
Secret Chiefs 3
The Sea Nymphs
Yochk'o Seffer
Semiramis
Sensations' Fix
Willam Sheller
Shibusashirazu
Shining
Hideo Shiraki
The Shiver
Shub-Niggurath
Jane Siberry
Sigur Rós
Silver Apples
A Silver Mt. Zion
Simon & Garfunkel
Nancy Sinatra
Siouxsie and The Banshees
The Sisters of Mercy
Skeleton Crew
Skids
Józef Skrzek
Slapp Happy
Slint
Sloche
The Smile
Patti Smith
Tim Smith
The Smiths
Snakefinger
Soft Machine
Solaris
The Sound
Soundgarden
Spinal Tap
Spirit
Spiritualized®
Spirogyra
Spookfish
Sprain
Squid
St. Vincent
Simon Steensland
Stereolab
Cat Stevens
Sufjan Stevens
Karlheinz Stockhausen
Stormy Six
Strawbs
Stringtronics
Sui Generis
Sumo
Susanne Sundfřr
Supersister
Supertramp
