Looking for bands like this, examples would be coheed and cambria, and ayreon. Bands where all/most/a decent amount of their albums are set in the same universe.

Bands i already know: Ayreon, Avantasia, Coheed and cambria, Magma, Rhapsody (of fire), Blind guardian, Dear hunter.

Hi,

It's a very tough area, and at times it is easy to suggest that the concept is not as detailed and worked as it could within a NOVEL, for example. Too much of rock music was designed to be more "pulp fiction" than it was to be serious, and a lot of the bands that tried to get serious got seriously pasted in the media, and they had no recourse but to stay quiet and move on to the next album. A perfect example is YES, that did RELAYER after TFTO, and these two are, just about, so on opposite sides of each other that it makes for a confusing band ... that simply decided to try and maintain their popularity ... instead of their intellectual ability. WE can even thank RW for his ill-timed comments, that were more about getting attention to himself for his solo projects than they were about his seriousness in music. The idea being that his were concepts, and what Yes did was not. Totally and fudging ridiculous!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
