Hi all
Scaladei is a recent Spanish duo from Barcelona, both of whom were in Harnakis (released one album in 1990), and one of whom is from the more recent Dr No. Like those 2 bands, I think they fit well in neo prog. Here they are on bandcamp and here is the latest album Let me know what you think Ken

Scaladei is a Spanish prog-rock band that originated in Barcelona. The band was formed by former members of Dr. No and Harnakis with a desire to continue creating progressive rock music. Their debut album from 2019, titled "The Swing of Things," features songs characterised by powerful and melodic music. One of the standout tracks on the album is "Tower 9," an ambitious 18-minute-long song that showcases the band's musical prowess. The music on their sophomore release, "School of Pure Soul" (2023), can be described as a fusion of progressive rock and symphonic elements. The sound is characterised by intricate guitar work, dynamic drumming, atmospheric keyboards, and soulful vocals. The band's ability to seamlessly blend different musical genres creates a rich and immersive listening experience for the audience. Scaladei's music is influenced by classic prog-rock elements while incorporating their unique style, which may fit into the neo-prog subgenre due to soaring synthesisers that bring atmospheric layers and melodic accompaniment to the clean, melodic electric guitar solos. As a recent addition to the Spanish prog-rock scene, Scaladei has garnered attention for their fresh take on the genre.

I've given a first listen. It's neo for sure, even if the production of the debut album (I've listened to part of the 18 minutes track) is not very good.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Quillbot says that Moyan's biography is almost certainly 100% AI generated, so I've pieced together another one from various sources that I've checked to be 0% AI generated, and 0% plagiarised if it's of any help to you guys. I'm pretty sure this band is effectively cleared in Neo based on what's been said in the team thread, though one team member hasn't registered his vote on Awesome Prog yet, which may be the reason for the delay.
----------------------------------------- Scaladei is a Spanish progressive rock band originating from Catalonia, and based in Salou (Tarragona) founded by Enric Pascual on drums, keyboards & Mellotron and Santi Calero on guitar, both musicians being former members of HARNAKIS, and Enric Pascual also being a former member of another Spanish progressive rock band called DocTorNo (originally spelt as Dr. No). They released their debut album 'The Swing Of Things' independently as a digital album in February 2020, and in physical format (CD) in June 2020, with Samuel Calero contributing bass on the title track to provide the additional depth which at times was somewhat lacking on the rest of the debut album. An earlier version of the album, with the title of 'Dangerous Bends' and consisting of five tracks rather than seven, was released on Bandcamp in December 2019. The band takes its name from the Cartuja de Escaladei, an ancient monastery located in Morera de Monsant, which is the subject of the artwork on the debut album's cover. The debut album was recorded at the band's Normen Studios in Salou, with their listed influences including traditional progressive rock bands such as Yes, Camel & Genesis. More recently, the band has been signed by 5 Lunas Producciones, a record label based in Málaga specialising in Spanish progressive rock and Prog Andaluz, and Samuel is now fully integrated as an official band member. An overall improvement in the production and sound quality of the band's sophomore release 'School Of Pure Soul' has resulted in a much more dynamic and fresher sound than that of the debut. The band's second album was released via 5 Lunas Producciones on March 16th 2023, and both albums contain plenty of neo-progressive influences from the likes of Leviathan, IQ, and early Marillion or Genesis, with significant use of Mellotron coupled with some tasteful melancholic guitar work. ------------------------------------------------ I've copied that text into the Neo team thread to give them a possible original biography to use when they add the artist.
