THE FLIES      There was a bit of a buzz going around the London underground scene when British pop-psych band The Flies (formerly known as In-Sect and No Flies On Us But) first appeared, but they were soon swatted away, having not managed to stick around long enough to record a full album together,. The Flies did record a memorable single though - a cover version of "I'm Not Your Stepping Stone" - which you can find on the Chocolate Soup for Diabetics compilation, for those with a sweet tooth. 

FLEUR DE LYS    If you're looking for Psychedelic Rock from British shores, then you can have your Fleur de Lys cake and eat it too with this band from southern England who are sailing from Southampton. 

FLAMING YOUTH      Do You Remember Flaming Youth? No, not many people do, but that was Phil Collins' first band in the flowering of his youth at the tender age of 18. At Face Value, Flaming Youth were a good band and they should have been a big success, but such are the vagaries of the music business that Against All Odds the band never managed to achieve a commercial breakthrough and they broke up in 1970. Flaming Youth are now just a footnote in Genesis' history, but they did remain together long enough to record one flaming hot album, and here it is.....

FIVE MAN ELECTRICAL BAND     A Canadian pop-psych band led by Les Emmerson (no relation to Keith).

FIVE DAY RAIN     The outlook is for sunny spells followed by five days of rain - just another typical week's weather in sunny old England, and when BBC weather forecaster Michael Fish tells you, "Don't worry. There isn't a hurricane on the way", that's when it's time to batten down the hatches and prepare for The Storm of the Century! 

FIRE     A Croatian hard rock band who take obscurity to new levels of oblivion, although they were probably the hottest happening in Zagreb for a brief time. Not surprisingly, Fire only made one album and despite relocating to Holland in the hope of selling a few more albums, their record company said, "You're Fired!" 

FIFTH FLIGHT      A five-a-side team of college football players with an album full of cover versions which crashed on its first flight. 

Fifth Flight - Sugar Mountain (A Neil Young cover)

FEDERAL DUCK    A short-lived band from Haverford, Pennsylvania whose life expectancy turned out to be as brief as a duck at a shooting gallery. 

It's a nice album to feather your nest with though. Quack-quack.

FEATHER DA GAMBA    Italian translation: Feather for the Leg, although I'm guessing the closest these guys have ever been to Italy is watching a spaghetti western at a movie theater. Arrivederci.   

FATE       Fate has dealt you an unkindly hand if you ever happen to meet up with Sergeant Death, for whom happiness is a warm gun.
