There were only 26 Italian prog albums listed for 1978, but the album by Demetrio Stratos sounded truly awful, which made it easy to decide who to delete from the poll to bring the total down to 25. The Aldebaran album is a masterpiece by comparison.

The Aldebaran album is a masterpiece by comparison.  "Cantare la voce" by Stratos is the only masterpiece of that year, an innovative, experimental album.

Automat - Automat is charming
Area - 1978: Gli Dei Se Ne Vanno, Gli Arrabiatti Restano! is pretty good, but my least favorite of the Areas I've cared to listen to (I've never heard their two later albums)

Oh yes this is nice and right up my alley. I can never get enough of this type of warm sounding jazz rock fusion. Bella Band would probably had gotten my vote.
