Thanks for all of your lists and responses. Really happy when people do share what they appreciate outside of the given lists, as well as sharing what they know and appreciate on the given lists as well. I have discovered much music over the years here by people mentioning other choices. Greg Foat was mentioned, and I will look into him more (love what I have heard from him), and will look into various others. I should check out that Morglbl; a band I discovered and then suggested to PA long ago (I only liked to suggest that which I appreciated).

Like with George, 2019 does seem a long (and different) time ago, and I couldn't remember much of what I liked then from the year, nor did I look it up. Most of what I listed that I like I got to know more recently.

Cisnienie was one of my favourite discoveries that I am pleased to have suggested for PA inclusion and was most excited about being added. Weyes Blood's Titanic Rising is the one I have listened to the most, partially because Weyes Blood is something my wife also loves. I love various of her albums, but And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow has received the most spins. Lingua Ignota was a great discovery for me thanks to its suggestion thread in this forum. Caligula Rising may be harder listening than Sinner Get Ready, but I hugely appreciate both albums.

black midi is a band I grew to love, although I have turned to the later albums more. I think I discovered The Comet Is Coming through the Interactive Polls; really like this album. Secret Chiefs 3 is a favourite of mine, and I got to know this more thanks to some forum conversation. Swans is of course a band I have often talked about over the last few years, and I enjoy all of it albums from Children of God up. Motorspsycho I have come to appreciate much more recently. Uboa is a favourite of mine.

Duster and Angel Olsen were recent discoveries of mine. And the other one I really like is Vanishing Twin's The Age of Immunology. I love Stereolab, Broadcast, Komeda, Pram...., and this is very much music of that ilk. If one likes Stereoloab and/or Broadcast, then I would think this would appeal. De Lorians was one I know in 2019 at least.

As for most of the rest, the options were chosen by searching charts and used even if the music is outside my wheelhouse/ interests. And I love various King Gizz albums, but I have not yet listened to the one in this list in full.

Not sure how to vote, but I feel like going Lingua Ignota right now (I know not all that know it here appreciate it as much as me -- it is a tortured output).

^Knowing your current tastes, the Morglbl won't be for you, Greg. But, Thieves' Kitchen may. Have you heard any of their albums? They have some National Health vibes. I'm surprised they aren't more popular on PA.

^ MY tastes often will adapt and change depending upon what I'm feeding it, I find. I'm quite impressionable and malleable, as long as the music can somehow resonate with personality traits often (I'm a reserved person). I have heard various tracks from Thieves' Kitchen that I enjoyed. Just listened to music from Genius Loci ("Eilmer") and yes, strong National Health vibes. I like it; thanks, Will. :)

From these I would single out Ciśnienie, The Comet is Coming and Vanishing Twin. Since the latter has no vote yet I'll give mine to The Age of Immunology.

Some other albums from 2019 that I like a lot:
On PA:
- Yôkaï - s/t
- Stephan Thelen - Fractal Guitar
- Sonar & David Torn - Tranceportatation Vol. 1
Not on PA:
- Nits - Knot
- Rozi Plain - What A Boost
- De Staat - Bubble Gum

Only a bit more than half of the list for the poll are personal likes. That list is a combination of ones I like and one found in the charts that I know of (nice to hopefully reach people who commonly don't gravitate to the kind of music I tend to go for by listing ones outside my wheelhouse). I culled the list from a longer one. I certainly had chosen Fly Pan Am for it initially. From your three choices from the list I prepared, only one of those is in the poll that I really like, which is black midi - Schlagenheim.

My top three from your list might be:
Fly Pan Am - C'est ça
black midi - Schlagenheim
Ex Canix - Shaman

I've largely forgotten what I was listening to in 2019. It is a year that largely seems forgotten by me.

Cellar Darling (Cardiff)
Devin Townsend (Cardiff Uni)
Take That (London’s O2) - yeah, I know, but it was a family thing, at my suggestion….and it was awesome!😎

^ Sweet. For my 2019 concert memories, I remember missing out on tickets to see Stereolab in concert that year.

My best 2019 concerts

Vezhlivy Otkaz - New York - bucket list band for a decade, never thought I'd get to see them, stunningly good
King Crimson - Boston - not as good as any of their recent tours, still stellar
Nick Mason - Boston - really excellent to see all the old Floyd material with real sense of joy and a high energy packed venue
The Comet Is Coming - Big Ears Knoxville & Boston - high energy modern electro jazz funk featuring Shabaka Hutchings on sax
Koenjihyakkei - RIO Lyon - another bucket list band, high energy Japanese Zeuhl heavy and bonkers all the time
This Is Not This Heat - Big Ears Knoxville - Experimental Rock one of the highlights of the festival
Nik Bartsch Ronin - Big Ears Knoxville - Swiss minimalist modern zen groove jazz
PoiL - RIO Lyon - punky avant rock - tiny club all standing loads of fun
Schnellertollermeier - RIO Lyon - Swiss brutal minimalist jazz, crushingly good.

IQ
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

I find with the last 2 IQ albums that I like the second disc much more that the first. Perhaps IQ are overeaching a tad as it doesn't get any better than Frequency. Massive BBT fan but The Grand Tour never quite did it for me compared to Folklore or English Electric (Pts 1 and 2)
That Izz album gets better every time I hear it. A masterpiece. I may have voted for Thieves' Kitchen Genius Loci if that had been included.
