Hi All. Long time, no post !

For those of you who do not remember us, The Red Masque is an art rock / progressive rock band in the Philadelphia area. We've been making music since 2001.

This past spring, we traveled to Orion Studios in Baltimore (where we had recorded an earlier album) to start work on recording a new album. We are working on it in chunks to make things easier (financially and time-wise), and we have finished recording the first 30 min of the album, or three songs ("Howl", "Insomniac" and "Tear the Sky Down"). This past weekend we went to start mixing one of these songs - "Insomniac".

After some hours with engineer Joe Tracey, we have a mix for this song. We're going to do some more listening to see if we need any addiitional tweaks, and then we'll move on to the other two songs. In addition, we've been rehearsing some more songs at our practice space so that we can record those tunes in the near future. Two of these songs are finished or close to being finished ("Fever Dream" and "Fool Again") and we have one more possible song that we want to see if we can work with as well. We anticipate the final album will feature these six songs plus at least one live bonus song recorded at a show last year.

We are also considering releasing one song (with perhaps a bonus live song) as a single in advance of the full album completion as way to garner interest in the new material and possibly also help fundraise our costs for the album.

Below is a video of us listening to a mix of "Insomniac" at Orion Studios with Joe. The final song is about 9.30 minutes long so this is just a section of the song.

I'm looking forward to this too. I'm a big fan of your Fossil Eyes album.

Nice! When it comes to promoting your new release, I have just one suggestion:

Decide as early as possible on the name of the release and the tracklist and set up a bandcamp page for it, including the final cover art. Create entries on musicbrainz.org and rateyourmusic.com that link to it. Do that well in advance of the actual release. It takes search engines some time to find the page.
