Biography

Nostra is a French-Latvian post-rock trio based in Riga, Latvia. Their music combines melodic post-rock with more aggressive post-metal, with diverse influences ranging from sludge to post-punk. Their imagery is populated by references to the Baltic nature and post-Soviet landscapes. They released two full albums: Nemoralis (2019) and Sea of Fertility (2023) and two EPs: Transmission(s) (2018) and Law of the Tongue (2020). They won several accolades and awards in Latvia, e.g. best new alternative band (2020) and best Latvian alternative, experimental, post-metal album (2023). The band features in various international medias such as Prog Mag (UK), De Mist Radio (NL). It has played with international bands like The Foreign Resort or Shy, Low.
