If you want to relax and unwind to the sound of some cool Easy Listening music, you've come to the right place. Smile

"Easy listening", (sometimes known as mood music) is a popular music genre and radio format that was most popular during the 1950s to 1970s.[5] It is related to middle-of-the-road (MOR) music and encompasses instrumental recordings of standards, hit songs, non-rock vocals and instrumental covers of selected popular rock songs. It mostly concentrates on music that pre-dates the rock n' roll era, characteristically on music from the 1940s and 1950s. Easy listening music is often confused with elevator music ("Muzak"), or lounge music, but while it was popular in some of the same venues it was meant to be listened to for enjoyment rather than as background sound." - Wikipedia

This song by Matt Monro from The Italian Job movie has always been one of my favourites.....

I like Paul Williams too. I picked up one of his albums recently from a charity shop for the bargain price of £1. I seem to recall he was in the movie Smokey & the Bandit, or was it The Cannonball Run? I know he was in one of those road comedies anyway. Smile

HERB ALPERT     A horn player who doesn't need to blow his own trumpet. Herb Alpert is the "A" in A & M Records (alongside Jerry Moss) which was later sold to PolyGram for a cool $500 million! Herb Alpert led his band The Tijuana Brass from the early 1960's until the Rise of his solo career in the mid-1970's. Herb has the honor of being one of only two artists - alongside Barry White - to top the US Billboard Hot 100 as both an instrumentalist on "Rise" and a vocalist on Bacharach & David's romantic classic: "This Guy's in Love with You". Heart

You may not remember Herb Alpert's Bean Bag, but you'll remember the theme to It's a Knockout, or Jeux Sans Frontieres (Games Without Borders) to our post-Brexit friends in Europe. For anyone who hasn't seen It's a Knockout, it was like the Olympics, only much more fun and introduced in the early years by Eddie 'up and under' Waring and David Coleman. Quite remarkable!
