Good brass rock: Definitely in the region of Chicago, Gailliard, BS&T, etc...
Two albums in 71

Nick Ronai (trombone),
Brian "Joe" Spibey (vocals, trumpet, 1969-70),
Alan Smith (alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, piano, 1969-?),
Jonny Toogood (guitar, 1969-?),
Keith Strachan (vocals, keyboards, 1969-71),
Roy Truman (bass, 1969-71),
John "Legato" Legg (alto saxophone, baritone saxophone, flute, 1969-71),
Chris Dawe (trumpet, flugelhorn, 1969-70),
Nick Thomas (tenor saxophone, 1969-?),
Chrys Chrysostomou (drums, 1969-?),
Ron Shillingford (soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone, flute, 1969-71),
Stewart Wilkinson (vocals, guitar, 1970-71),
Maurice McElroy (drums, 1970),
Billy Hogan (drums, 1970-71),
John "Lennie" Macnicol (trumpet, 1970-71)

Formed by Nick Ronai and Joe Spibey, Swegas took its name from a plural form of the Anglo-Saxon word ‘sweg’, which means ‘sound’, ‘noise’, or ‘melody’. The band underwent over fifty personnel changes during its first year, but by 1970 a firm octet was established. The group recorded three albums during its short lifespan—the first of which went unreleased—before disbanding in late 1971.

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Ohhhh, so that's what it means! I was under the impression the origin for the name was the city in Nevada - Las Wegas.

Sorry, it took us a while to get to this one but it is on the chart and I'm positive we'll be able to evaluate it soon!
