Another chance to assemble your ideal prog compilation with the second in the Now That's What I Call Prog series, where you get to choose 20 prog classics by 20 different artists, not necessarily picking your favourite songs, but choosing popular songs that are most likely to appeal to a wider audience as well as songs that best represent that year in prog-rock. So what's it going to be? A potential million-seller, or a car boot sale bargain? 01. Aphrodite's Child - End of the World 02. Jeff Beck - Shapes of Things 03. Blood, Sweat & Tears - I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know 04. Caravan - Where But for Caravan Would I? 05. The Crazy World of Arthur Brown - Fire 06. Cream - White Room 07. Deep Purple - River Deep, Mountain High 08. Fairport Convention - Time Will Show the Wiser 09. The Jimi Hendrix Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower 10. Iron Butterfly - In-a-Gadda-da-Vida 11. Jethro Tull - A Song for Jeffrey 12. The Moody Blues - Legend of a Mind 13. The Nice - Intermezzo (from the Karelia Suite) 14. Nirvana - Rainbow Chaser 15. Pentangle - The Time Has Come 16. Pink Floyd - Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun 17. Procol Harum - In Held Twas I 18. Spooky Tooth - Tobacco Road 19. Strawbs - The Battle 20. Vanilla Fudge - Season of the Witch

^ I have always loved 'White Horses' by Jacky, it always reminds me of the long six-week school holidays.
It never seemed to be off the TV back in the 70's

I love Jacky's White Horses too, although I'd forgotten that was also the title of the TV show, which I'm just old enough to remember. Two more favourite equine themes from the same era..... Denis King - Galloping Home (theme from Black Beauty) The Settlers - The Lightning Tree (theme from Follyfoot) Edited by Psychedelic Paul - February 16 2024 at 06:29 |

Black Beauty is one of my favourite TV theme tunes. I had totally forgotten about Follyfoot, another very decent theme tune. |

Hi, Heard all these in the FM dial in Madison at the time. Those were the days when you heard a lot of new stuff ... PLAYED ... instead of just listed. And as mentioned before, these were in STEREO, instead of the older AM radio that was MONO ... thus making the music a lot better for your ears.
... The Mothers of Invention - Absolutely Free Fleetwood Mac - Albatross Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band - I'm The Urban Spaceman Manfred Mann - Mighty Quinn The Rolling Stones - Jumpin' Jack Flash Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet Ride Richard Harris - MacArthur Park ...
These were also in that FM listing.
