He's still under evaluation for Jazz Rock/Fusion. Unfortunately our team has been rather overburdened and understaffed for some time which is why it's taking so long. Please stay tuned!

I've 'bumped' this topic in the JR/F team thread, since it's been a while since there were any visible developments. The state of play as of June 2024 was two 'move' votes and one 'no'. The 'moves' would ideally have been to Crossover, but the JR/F team was aware of the previous rejection there, so one team member suggested Eclectic as a last resort, and the other said that the album was a mix of soft rock, a bit of jazz plus a bit of prog, and that Prog Related seemed to be more appropriate.
'The Follies of Rupert Treacle' is tagged on RYM as Progressive Rock, Proggnosis have him (as Prog Uncategorized), and listening now, to me the album does sound as though it belongs here (again, ideally in Crossover Prog). For what it's worth the album is included on our page for Nektar's 'Book of Days' as the bonus disc from the 2020 deluxe edition. Previous Crossover team comments included things like: "A tough call indeed. My vote is UNSURE, tend to NO", "NO (I could be convinced to move to Prog Related - not sure it meets qualifications)" and: "I tend to go "no" as well", so although it looks like an out and out rejection with all three team members voting 'no', they weren't strong 'no' votes, and if all else fails I'd be tempted to throw this back to the Crossover team for a reconsideration (though all three Crossover team members would need to vote 'yes' if that were to happen). I'd be surprised if Roye Albrighton would be considered by our admins to meet the criteria for inclusion in Prog Related, and in any case it would need a Special Collaborator to step up to the plate, put together a convincing case in support of his inclusion, and then present it to the admins in order for the proposal to be even considered.

Prog-related at best, if only for the Nektar connection. Rejected for crossover. And that should say a lot... ![]() |
