Hi,

From Logan's list at the start ... here are some comments.

Oiapok - OisoLun
Nice stuff, though it's hard to not hear some Frank Zappa in spots. Still really nice!

Moon Safari - Himlabacken
Nice, although I would consider this pop music and not exactly progressive. Nice stuff, though and the long cuts are really good. Kinda reminds me of Styx, but that's stretching a lot! Some Yes, maybe. Still nice stuff.

The Chronicles of Father Robin - The Songs & Tales of Airoea
Folk Rock ... nice stuff. Nice to see a band not afraid of doing longer pieces. These are nice!

Zopp - Dominion
Really nice. Very satisfying listen. Reminiscent of the Canterbury style, of what some of us would consider extended jams ... beautyfully done. Probably one of the best in all this bunch. I think I played this back to back 3 times ... that's how enjoyable it is!

Lars Fredrik Froislie - Fire Fortellinger
Nice. Enjoyable.

Avkrvst - The Approbation
Nice. Enjoyable. Some metal touches, but not overdone. A little growl on the background that I'm not sure is that good or helps the music. I think it brings it down some as there is some really nice stuff here.

Amoeba Split - Quiet Euphoria
Soft fusion, and really nice.

Explosions in the Sky - End
Very nice instrumental stuff. Very enjoyable.

Maud the Moth+Trajedesaliva - Borlando el Manto Terrestre
Some far out stuff here in one very unusual thing ... really far out.

Monika Roscher Bigband - Witchy Activities and the Maple Death
A little on the weird side for me, but interesting. The big band idea adds more flexibility, though for my tastes some of it is kinda overdone here. Still an interesting listen, but you and I will often go ... what was that? And on occasion, if you had one drink too many ... was that Jon Anderson stoned or on mushrooms? But there is some far out stuff here.

Chromb! - Cinq
Vive la difference! You and I will likely end up thinking ... how can we think this is not right, fun and good? Very unusual and weird ... but it doesn't stop and you get the feeling these folks know what they are doing. Enjoyable for its strangeness and material that is way out there somewhere, but it is neat. But, I do wonder how we sometimes choose things ... just because it is weird and experimental, or crazy? A fun listen, and I had deja-vu moments thinking of the first time I heard FAUST ... and wondered ... hmmmm ... but at that time there was a lot of folks doing sound experiments live on stage, and theater was going crazy, nude and no "audience" with actors all around you, and no physical stage ... you kinda get that feeling here ... the question is ... is it weird, art or just ... plain ... having fun with everything you can think of that comes up?
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
