This is the fourth poll that I have done covering albums included in the discographies of Prog Archives band/artist listings where I list one release per five year period (one for 1965 to 1969, one for 1975 to 1979 etc.) I also have now done four polls with the same concept for releases not included in Prog Archives database.
Multiple votes allowed, please vote for up to three (or more if such limitations are too restrictive for you). And please vote no more than once per album. Additionally, feel free to vote even if you have very limited knowledge. Comments on the selections are appreciated even if not on the positive side, and feel free to mention your own favourites off any of the albums, and I hope some will come up with their own lists and polls. I don't only like to share that which I like, I like to check out what others like. Fifty Foot Hose "Fantasy" (Cauldron, 1967) Magma "Naü extila" (Kobaïa, 1970) Cos "Mein Maschine ist schön" (Babel, 1978) Eskaton "La danse des feux" (Fiction, 1983) Swans "In My Garden" (Children of God, 1987) John Zorn/ Naked City "Sunset Surfer" (Radio, 1993) Tortoise "The Taut and the Tame" (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, 1996) Dungen "Om du Vore en Vakthund" (Ta det lugnt, 2004) North Sea Radio Orchestra "Kingstanding" (North Sea Radio Orchestra, 2006) Goat "Det som aldrig förändras / Diarabi" (World Music, 2012) Kikagaku Moyo "Green Sugar" (House in the Tall Grass, 2016) black midi "Dangerous Liaisons" (Hellfire, 2022) I made a youtube playlist of the tracks. Hopefully someone might find something to like in it. Edited by Logan - December 18 2023 at 11:53 |

I took the time to go through the things I didn't know on the playlist, and most of them are great, so all votes for discoveries this time. Fifty Foor Hose was the biggest surprise, and I'll also vote for Cos and Eskaton, as much as I like those that I did know, in particular NSRO, Swans, Magma, Tortoise.

Thanks Lumenko, Trevor and Manuel. Lovely choices.
Thanks so much for taking the time. Really glad, but not surprised, you found music to like. :) All you've mentioned are amongst my very favourites on the list. Fifty Foot Hose's "Fantasy" has been one of the most interesting tracks from the 1960s to me. And that Cos and Eskaton I love. ---------------------------------------- Based on current mood, I might go Cos, Eskaton, Swans (would like Magma too), but I also would like to see the Naked City track get a vote since it puts a smile on my face. The Kikagaku Moyo track is very comfort foody for me (sounding similar to acts like Stereolab, Komeda, Vanishing Twin...). As for black midi, while it's not a band I much appreciated at first, I grew to love them, and "Dangerous Liaisons" is one of the tracks that clicked early on for me. I like the lounge-y qualities, and I like thew vocals very much. |

Question: Why not more than one? Answer: Just be Cos [sic]. Just kidding, it's the one of these that I most wished to include. |
