I start celebrating when the cement trucks put on their boots and the dododox smells like a Klondike bar.

Here in the UK, Christmas seems to start at the end of August.
I hate Christmas, I'm a proper Scrooge - roll on summer 2024!

The best thing about Christmas is when it's over and mince pies are reduced to a quarter of full price.

But to be honest, we turn the outside Christmas lights on on the day they do the Santa Claus Parade here in town. Usually the last weekend in Nov. But absolutely NO Christmas music before Dec 1st. |

It's those Christmas records, Mariah Carey, Wham, Slade, Wizzard, Mud and especially The Pogues (Fairytale Of New York). I just can't stand them.

Starting at December 24th, 5 pm, until and including 26 December, unless I can avoid it.

They should have Christmas every four years, just like the Olympics and the World Cup!

And like leap years. I suggest moving it to February 29. * my maternal grandfather's birthday was on Feb. 29, by the way. |

I like a lot of things about Christmas and always look forward to the December-month. Small social gatherings, wishing each other Merry Christmas, keeping ,more or less informal traditions alive with our friends - and our families... But I guess I get into the spirit of things the week before, and it ends abruptly ca. the 25th or 26th. -I've collected like tons of vintage Christmas-tunes over the years
(recorded ca. 1935-1980 - after that it mostly sucks big time, if it's
not recordings of centuries old material) - like any style or genre there's plenty of great things to discover if you look hard and long enough.

On the day of my creation, I fell in love with education. And overcoming all frustration, a teacher I became.

I've come to the conclusion ALL holidays should be every 2 years because years seem more like 6 months these days but i'm down with leap year Christmases! |

I'm not a big Christmas fan but I'd say anytime after Thanksgiving is ok.

My family starts celebrating Christmas immediately after Thanksgiving. We decorate the Christmas tree and put out the rest of the decorations. We do not celebrate Black Friday. It's a family tradition minus the consumerism. I cook holiday dishes and bake cookies and pies. Gift neighbors and co-workers the goodies. It makes me happy, it makes them happy, so I carry on. Spread the cheer.
