Actually quite an impressive number of votes for a couple of days on Zappa.

Went with the 88 band since Broadway The Hard Way is my favorite Zappa live album, with Roxy & Elsewhere a close second.

My favorite era is the '73-'74 bands especially the OSFA line up that isn't mentioned in the list, so that's post- drum duo.

The Yerbouti era is probably my favorite.

I love all Zappa and I love the Turtles, so "Flo and Eddie" period...second ''66 to 69''. It's all good.

Surprised to see so little votes for 76 (the Bianca & Halloween lineup), 79-81 (Vai joins in 81), and 88!

Most of those eras are fine with me, I could vote for everything between 1967 and 1979, the orchestral works.... But the most special/singular/outstanding works in this selection (not necessarily the 'best' and in order not to vote for everything) for me are Civilization Phase III, Feeding the Monkies and Dance Me This...

Oh, you're right ![]() You have a valid point since a band dynamic does change when you lose 3 members, amirite?

There was also a very short lived lineup in '75 (depicted on the Camouflage release) between the Beefheart band and the 4 piece Zoot lineup; it could be the Zagreb/Ljub band, but I'm not 100% sure. Some expert out there can educate me!

Tom Fowler and George Duke knew it was time to go because the dynamic had changed. It didn't really matter that Bruce and Walt were back.

Correct, but they never toured. It had Denny Walley again before he came back in the 78-79 band.
