I've got three Ayreon albums (Human Equation, Electric Castle, Dream Sequencer) I really like them, but they are so sonically busy that I have problems focusing on all the stuff that is going on. So for that they get my No.6 position.

I have a fair sprinkling of 21st Century Symphonic Metal favourites too (including Avantasia), so I could add those to the human equation later too if you like. Smile

Some great stuff there, but the idea is to do it by letter starting at A.

4 stars 2001: Aesma Daeva - The Eros of Frigid Beauty - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzvYIr94fNg
4 stars 2003: Aesma Daeva - The New Athens Ethos - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9l1XHVds40
4 stars 2005: Aesma Daeva - Ex Libris - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suZ2IOuWA-w

I couldn't quite manage five Aesma Daeva albums, not unless I include their debut album from 1999. Wink

Yes I did, first line of my text.
Granted, in trying to save space, it wasn't in the post title, which I have since edited. No worries

Yes, it says Fave Five, so I'm choosing five favourite Hard Rock/Metal  bands beginning with the letter "A", just like you did at the top of the page, although I can't promise there'll be exactly five albums by each artist. Smile

You could start at the beginning with Aesma Daeva's debut album and then work your way through. That's what I usually do. Smile

I thought of these two as well, but I didn't know if we were supposed to add prog-metal bands. Confused (Although I did add Arch/Matheos to my list, so what do I know LOL)

In my opinion, definitely

2001: Aesma Daeva - The Eros of Frigid Beauty   Thumbs Up

which I also consider to be Prog Metal, even the band is not on PA.

Nice to see Avatarium mentioned ... but are they prog? They're definitely adjacent at least in my book, but not yet included on PA.

One question here, what is "hard rock prog"?
