Ok, so we did A! What comes next? H obviously (no, just stop) ...B!! For the newbies to this concept, the rules are simple... 1) make a list of PROG bands or artists (B surname ex. Bruford) for which you own a handful of records or just straight up enjoy! 2) list your personal favorite album from the band and briefly explain why you chose the one you did. Or... do it my way which includes one band at a time, the LP name and cover, and explanation. I will get the ball rolling... BRUFORD *it feels good to me while listening to this gentleman* Where do you start in the Bruford canon? Everything the band touched became gold! With notable players like the man himself, Jeff Berlin, Dave Stewart, and Allan Holdsworth, the band is in top form (or close to it) on this record. Yeah, I didn't pick the other one bc of the vocals and slightly maniacal/claustrophobic feel in places. This one has everything for me: fusion, canterbury? Just call it whatever you want! Enjoy, everyone!!

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

I'll just keep it to one band each time. This time Banco del mutuo
soccorso: I got eight of their albums in my collection, a couple both
on CD and vinyl, as with my preferred album Io sono nato libero. This
album has some jazzy tendencies that I appreciate very much and I think
that Canto Nomade Per Un Prigioniero Politico is one of the best things
they ever did. |

I love this band!! I would have to agree with you on this one although the s/t has moments of pure emotional bliss I can't describe. I take this band over PFM in a heartbeat! Although I do love PFM too.

^ I like my old school prog. Barclay James Harvest are one of those evergreen bands who've gone the distance over time, unlike some of the short-lived Pop artists of today who have the shelf-life of a terminally ill mayfly.

I wish that were true, but the fact is that a lot of these artists are formulaic, money-driven, and sickly repetitive while possessing 0 musical pedigree, and in this day and age, these things are what specifically drive and determine their careers and/or success.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Can't go wrong with any of the first 6 from Sabbath. I believe SoT put them in I, but great RPI release! The symphonic album of symphonic prog!
