I might add that it's not really a song I consider to particularly great or even good. But that goes for the rest of Camera, Camera as well. Annie's voice is too shouty and "girlie" on most of this album for me to genuinely enjoy any of it. And the production generally sucks as well. Cheap sounding synths, thin and treble heavy. But the ABBA-like chorus here is drop dead gorgeous. It deserved a better song and sound surroundig it. I also like that it's a song about fairies.

I actually like a lot that she tried out some nonstandard things with her voice on that album. It is fresh and full of ideas, although admittedly not all of them work well. The sound is not optimal but I like the playing a lot, guitars, keyboards, bass, some of it also nonstandard for Renaissance and full of ideas.

I appreciate the attempt, but I can't say I consider the end result a success. A shame as I can hear that they had a greater album in them. Glad you like it but Camera, Camera ends up a "close, but no cigar" for me.

Not one of one of my favourite Renaissance albums in all honesty, but Jane Relf's hauntingly-beautiful Face of Yesterday has always been one of my favourite Renaissance songs. Heart

Renaissance - Widdecombe Fair

A rare song from the transitional line-up, but who's the mystery lady on vocals? Ermm
