DS9 was generally considered the best of the Star Trek spin offs' and delved a lot into spirituality as I remember and the origins of the universe. Had wonderfully big ideas and well realised characters.

From my experience as an autistic person and a trans woman I couldn't help but feel like Odo and Dax were really well written and on-point representations of those two respective descriptors even if it probably wasn't entirely intentional; but really the entire cast shines all the way through: I was no less engaged by the religious devotion and development of Kira and Sisko even though I personally am not religious at all; it's like it's got something for everyone.

DS9 was a great series. I agree that the characters on that series were really interesting and quite complex. I haven't seen it since it was last broadcast. It's on my list of series to re-watch in the near future. Right now I'm in the middle of re-watching Babylon 5 (which I also haven't seen since it was last broadcast) and Heroes (which I've never seen before), and plan on watching DS9 shortly after I finish those. Enterprise (from 2001-05) is another one I want to re-watch.

Alone. Season 9.
American survival competition series. 10 people try to survive alone in the wilderness. They are isolated from each other and all other humans, have to build shelters and get food by hunting and catching wild animals and eat berries and stuff. They film themselves, so there is no camera crew around or anything.
Pretty interesting.

2 nominations for Best Drama series and Best Lead Actress in a drama series for Lynskey. Nothing in supporting actress category for Juliette Lewis and Christina Ricci which is dominated by White Lotus and Succession.

Apart from those aforementioned 2 shows, The Last Of Us received a load of nominations as well and good to see Bella Ramsey nominated.

Pleased to see some acting nominations in Limited series category for Blackbird.  Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser should each be picking up an Emmy in their lead and supporting actor categories. Also nice to see Ray Liotta nominated in his last TV series role.

Looking through the nominations it's massively dominated by US shows and especially HBO. Not that much sign that the likes of Netflix, Apple and Paramount are bridging the gap as yet.

Just finished it (season 2 of Yellowjackets). Very good all round really. I've read there are to be 5 series in total so not too much has been given away so far. But it's still gripping stuff and quite brutal at times. this season 8.5/10

Half way through series 2 of Yellowjackets. Continues straight after the first series (both present day and the accident 25 years earlier). It's still very good but some questions really need answering soon as it gets deeper and more mysterious. Christina Ricci is particularly good in this too.

Sweet Tooth series 2 finished last night. It's staggering how a really well made, successful first series can plummet to the dross of the second one. A real shame as this could have been brilliant. The story is fine, but the execution is severely lacking. 9/10 for series 1, 2/10 series 2.

Next will series 2 of Yellowjackets.

The Marvelous Mrs Maisel Final Season (9 episodes)

I held onto the last few episodes and so perhaps lost a bit of momentum as a result. Still it's as sharp as ever and will be such a shame to lose this lovely warm show. An object lesson in character lead gentle humour. 9/10

Extrapolations 2023

8 episodes that look into the future to explore the possible impact of climate change. It's not too preachy and has some nice ideas. 7/10

Just started season 2 of Sweet Tooth. The first season was great but this latest one just seems a bit flat and charmless - a shame.

That's on Apple TV+

Also highly recommended on Apple TV+ is Hijack with Idris Elba and then there are new seasons of Foundation and Invasion coming up if you like sci-fi.

Citadel

Shouldn't really be reviewing it as I couldn't finish it, but I was just so bored. Richard Madden is giving the most sterile performance of his career and Stanley Tucci is hopefully enjoying the nice pay check. BTW to all TV producers , bossy English women do not make good baddies. Lesley Manville is woefully miscast and the plot is about some secret Cabal that is manipulating stuff and needs to be stopped. Yawn. 2/10 for a few decent action set peices.

And now finished Silo. A great TV show with surely more to come (based on the books by Hugh Howey there should be enough material). Loved it 9/10

Finished Series 2 of From recently. A good first series, but a drab second one. No answers whatsoever, just more questions and mystery. The acting is half decent at least. 6/10

Now watching Silo which is excellent.
