Hi, I have 4 "favorite" women singers, and these two are the best in my book. The other two fit in another universe ... Gilly Smith and Renate Knaup ... Gilly was vital in adding a touch to GONG that made the band more expressive, and Renate, since she was not going to be made a natural singer for the group, ended up adding her own reflections on many pieces of music that are totally fascinating, including using different voices, but one thing is clear ... her social and political sides are very evident and she is not afraid, which is something that most singers shy away from. Only Jim Morrison did not care if he was afraid or not ... he adjusted the words and poems to it! Easy enough! Sandy Denny's Reynardine is the one piece that will always stick in my mind and one of the most beautifully done pieces ever. And Richard Thompson, staying with it, and helping her ... is totally beyond what "music" might be considered. Kate Bush is on her own "level" specially in the past 10/15 years. It's almost difficult to not ask her ... when is the next album coming out? ... probably when the wine has rested enough, or the poem has eclipsed itself! And I left Annie Haslam behind ... but it was cool when she drilled a new hole in DD's ear! Way to go Annie! Got his attention!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
