I like the phrases "the sound that seems to come out of a power socket and put a dump, a dump, a dump again" and "Morse code well, the ship has lost its way in space, beep bit." Well deserving contributions that would fit nicely in the Off at Tangents thread or a potential lyricist for my music project.

And this by alainPP - English may not be the poster’s first language but this is gibberish? They’re not even reviewing the correct item?!?!

^ looks like the intended review was for Rainbow's Rising. That's pretty bad if you can't even review the correct album

It's not the first time he's done that. Back in April I reported a review of a Camel live album that was actually a review of Mirage. Then a couple of weeks later he reviewed the wrong Mike Oldfield album. I also notice that he uses the word OMNI (in capitals) in a lot of his reviews and I haven't got a clue what it means!

Perhaps OMNI is an acronym for Observe My Never-ending Incompetence. The word "omni" itself can mean in all ways and always present, so it's like saying that the incompetence is boundless. I like the term from the show The Thick of It (with Peter Capaldi), which is omnishambles, meaning "a situation that is seen as shambolic from all possible perspectives." Very fitting. I'll see if I can contact the account. |

Lol. He posted the same wrong "Rising" review twice. The single "Starstruck" and the single- "Since You've Been Gone". Is he an absent minded genius or is something else afoot?

It's a coded message to his alien superiors. Crop circles are so passé.

This review gives no information at all about what the music sound likes. It’s the only review of any of this artist’s albums. Could it be the artist themselves reviewing it or am I just being cynical?!? http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=80999 Edited by Duddick - June 10 2023 at 12:14 |

^It's short and it won't be up for any review of the year awards, but it definitely talks about the album and what they like about it. I've seen much longer reviews that didn't accomplish that much.

^ and ^^ It's acceptable, but it really is vague. Not much substance to it. Other than the song mentions, it could be about so, so, so very many albums. It does not describe the album well with the kind of detail that I would hope for to get a feel for what the albums sounds like (personally, I like those that say something about the styles and compare to other albums). I get much more of a feel for the music from the bio which was written by the composer.

I would like to delete my comment on the VDGG album "Pawn Hearts" that I just released. It does not have the page breaks it should have and I would like to correct them. I don't know if this is the right place to do this, but I don't know where to go. Thank you Hector Enrique

Duplicate reviews?
Edit: I just realized that there are two very similar entries associated with those reviews... ... but still, the reviewer could have elaborate more about this fact.

I don’t know but I would vote to ban any user who saves up reviews and pushes everyone else off the homepage
Just sayin |

This person has just posted a shedload of VDGG reviews. Maybe a reminder not to clog up the reviews feed? The actual reviews are fine though http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=52320

There is a bit of a simpler and fairer way to resolve the "problem" and that is to get the owner of the site to expand the homepage so that more reviews can appear on it. It wouldn't take much, and the chap in question has not broken any rules. Personally, as you know, I do not replicate the reviews I do for my website on Prog Archives (those acts that have been added here), but, again, this member is not breaking any rules by doing so.
