Error Code's posts remind me of part of the lyrics to the early Genesis song called the Conqueror: "He climbs inside the looking glass and points at everything he hates..." LOL

If you are listening to music on youtube then you have to put in A.C.T. with the periods in between and not ACT. It might help to add the word Swedish prog too. ;)

I listened to "moving pictures" and "clockwork angels" by Rush and they were in-between, but if I listen to them more, I will most likely like the albums more. (also liked clockwork angels a tiny tiny bit more that moving pictures) Thank you for the suggestion!

I kind of like it, but I never choose to listen to it. But that's really a one off non-representative album in their discography. I really like their latest Ancient Astronauts + The All is One & Heavy Metal Fruit. I don't know if it's your thing, but they are all certainly closer to the way they usually sound.

If you want to further explore the symphonic part of prog, I would recommend:

Collegium Musicum, from former Czechoslovakia

Jon Lord's Concerto for Group and Orchestra

Oldfield is a talented one-man band, he recorded his debut album, Tubular Bells at 19, and it went to number one. He's got many classic albums, a bit of folk, prog, even some hints of blues and canter berry scene. He's got lots of great albums, his early stuff is mainly instrumental. So to Start off with, i'd recommend his debut, Tubular Bells, Ommadawn, and Hergest Ridge. He released an album in the 90s called 'Amarok' one continuous peice of exactly 60 minutes, the story behind that is amazing.

So, to summarize, Tubular Bells, Ommadawn, and Amarok

I liked Meddle by Pink Floyd (and really liked echoes)
I liked Take A Pebble in "Emerson, Lake & Palmer" by "Emerson, Lake & Palmer"
I also liked (even though it was not recommended here) Lost, but not Forgotten and Myth of a White Jesus in "The Devouring" by Djam Karet. I randomly found it and liked it.

Based on these, are there any other songs I should definitely check out?

It seems you like the calmer stuff. Perhaps you'd enjoy King Crimson's Islands, or A Farewell To Kings by Rush (although the latter is more of a mixture between heavy songs and quiet songs).

There is a trio of quiet, soothing KC songs that I believe have been called "the three lullabies" (after the line from The Court of the Crimson King) (though I may be completely wrong about what songs that phrase refers to in the fandom): I Talk To The Wind, Cadence and Cascade, and Lady Of The Dancing Water. Since you've heard and liked the first two, why not try the third? It's off Crimson's third album, Lizard, which is one of my favorites of theirs. The rest of the album is pretty similar in style to the first two, albeit with more jazz. What's your opinion on jazz? When I was obsessed with Rush I knew this guy who was super into jazz and constantly trying to get me into King Crimson because he thought it'd be a gateway drug or something, I don't know, I'm still not too well-versed in jazz.

And in a desperate attempt to get this post back on track, I will suggest The Kick Inside by Kate Bush.

I honestly expected this thread to die off, but I am happy to have recommendations. I haven't really listened to jazz to know if I would like it. I've always been a rock person, even before I found prog rock. Thanks for the recommendations!
