So tough to pick something over DCD, Barren Dream, or Earthworks--wonderful albums, all!--but Still Life (Talking) is, in my opinion, the absolute peak release of Pat's Group; Wertico, Rodby, Mays, with "super-musicians" Armando Marçal, David Blamires, and Mark Ledford!

Had to go for Crest of a Knave.
It's an absolute masterpiece of an album. |

The only one I really know well is Yes' BG. Despite the stick it gets, I like it especially the original album side 2, so I went for that.

^ Yes, that's why I said "in my view". It might be the worst line-up of albums ever in someone else's view.

DCD's Realm gets my vote since it's one of my all time favorites period.

Why are there two different polls for 1987 and other 80s years?

Drew's (BrufordFreak's) series of polls for the same years feature some of the more offbeat albums which I didn't have room to include in my polls.

Tangerine Dream - Tyger.
Not their greatest album but London and 20th Century Common Man (both parts) make it worthwhile.

t's good to see a second vote for TD's under-appreciated Tyger album, when I was beginning to wonder if anyone else would vote for it.

That Geoff Downes album is a fabulous recording.

The best (and possibly only) Canterbury Scene band from Japan, which is about as far from Canterbury in relative terms as the brightest star Sirius is from the Sun.

If I could vote I'd have to vote Gaudi, because I dream to sing Gaudi in front of a crowd of hundreds. It's my favorite Alan Parsons Project album. Big Generator is a close second. Next would go to Outer Limits. And 4th would be Crest of A Knave.
