My friends and I discovered the band Guranfoe, a British folk-jazz-psych prog band, on a random Bandcamp rabbit hole several months ago. They have been around since 2013, but they primarily release live albums, with their first studio album being released in 2019. They're a fantastic band, but they are depressingly obscure, with their fantastic debut album "Sum of Erda" only having a measly 31 ratings on ProgArchives.

The band just released their sophomore album "Gumbo Gumbo" last month, and it is PHENOMENAL. Great eclectic prog record, and as mentioned, it's an interesting blend of psych, jazz, and folk influences, with an emphasis on jamming—it reminds me at times of Phish, but more refined and much more British. I would highly recommend it to fans of everything from Phish to Ozric Tentacles to Zappa to Jordsjø—in my opinion, its variety of influences gives it a very universal appeal. Given how obscure the band is, I wanted to make a post about it to give these guys some recognition.

I use they/them pronouns (feel free to ask me about this!)

Check out my music on my bandcamp!

Yeah wow, the new one kicks ass.   I love a prog band that doesn't sacrifice the sound of real rock music being recorded with heart & soul, very rare these days.  This actually sounds like it was done live-in-the-studio.

Just popped Sum of Erda in my cart, will keep an eye for Gumbo Gumbo.   Cheers.

This sounds very lush and thick. It is good. They remind me a lot to Camel, more than to the bands that you mentioned.

They're an excellent band, worth checking out.
