^ Definitely among my favourites from this year (so far). I’ve never been disappointed by Daal, but this is a wonderful album, for sure! 🤗😍

Now playing 🎧 I’ve felt (and said) for some time that I think the debut album from Solace Supplice is likely to be my favourite release from this year. If there were any doubt, it’s probably now gone, and for the worst reason. As much as I wanted to think and hope otherwise, I knew the horrible probability was that this would be the first and last Solace Supplice release. I only wish I had managed to complete my Imaginærium review in time for Eric to have seen how much I enjoy that album, too. It feels a little odd, knowing the Imaginærium album has not even been released yet. And there is still Nova Cascade to come, too. The spirit carries on…. RIP, mon ami. 😔 |

Also adding Muse - Will of The People Lonely Robot - A Model Life 3 very different albums. Muse have released their best album since Absolution and probably on a par with Black Holes and Revelations. It's an excellent set of songs all written by Matt Bellamy as the world came of of lock down. Looking forward to the Plymouth gig next year and singing We're f**king f**ked with everyone else! The redoubtable talent of John Mitchell again delivers a very nice album indeed. Love the production and bass sound especially. Motorpsycho will likely end up my favourite album of the year perhaps just edging out Daal. Developing into another great year for prog.

Adding (cont'd)
Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - Orlando: Le Forme dell'Amore Motorpsycho - Ancient Astronauts Regal Worm - Worm! I'm very impressed with Banco's new album. That album could play on repeat for long time.

Five-Storey Ensemble is apparently not listed here, which is very strange. Anyway, just listening to their wonderful 2022 Presence album. One of the best! I also like the new Motorpsycho, Legendary Pink Dots, and Björk a lot.

Olga and Vitaly have doe it again! Now, with three of the best albums of the past 10 years, it's time for PA to accept Chamber Prog as a thing. There are TONS of bands, songs, albums that do not use drum kits and/or use percussion instruments minimally that deserve to be here. And there are plenty of examples of bands/artists composing neoclassical types of music. Edited by BrufordFreak - October 21 2022 at 15:11 |

Jean Michel Jarre - OXYMORE Evership - The Uncrowned King - Act 2 the JMJ album has the title and all the tracks in CAPITALS for some reason. Anyway it's a good album , way better than the last release

Four albums I've given a 5 (four and a half) stars this year, in no particular order:
Jonas Lindberg & The Other Side - Miles from Nowhere The Tangent - Songs from the Hard Shoulder TRK Project - Books that End in Tears (Duets version) Solace Supplice - Liturgies Contemporaines :-( Honourable mentions for Pure Reason Revolution, and possibly splitting opinion, Porcupine Tree

Watch out everybody: Chrissie Loftus and iNFiNiEN are back with another album! And it's killer! So smooth, mature, and engaging start to finish!
