Lot of great animated comedy duos. These are the characters I know, from The States.
Pick a fave, or list another, and leave a comment. Edit... Forgot to include Tom and Jerry. Edited by Grumpyprogfan - September 28 2022 at 04:53 |

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

Flintstone and Rubble.
I think Barney and Fred's friendship was both funny and adorable, like that of The Dude and Walter's (The Big Lebowski). |

Hi, From a writing standpoint yeah, they were the best pair. Even from a visual perspective it is exciting, and when one sees the cartoon with the hunting season, you already remember it in your head ... how many other cartoons do you have the special moments imprinted in your head? Tom and Jerry had their moments, but the sad side of it was that they were two sided, and the story was almost always the same, even when the Mexican relative showed up. One could say that Bugs and Daffy were the same as well, but the situations varied a whole lot more than most cartoons, who lacked the writing features that Warner Brothers presented. I love cartoons, and specially one thing that only the Warner Brothers really made well with, although it may have started with FANTASIA (Walt Disney), and it was the use of the music. If you ever have the chance grab one of the CD's of soundtracks to many of these cartoons by WB ... and listen to them. It's insane music, designed with craziness inside, and on top of it, it has a different value that we will not be able to see when listening to it without the cartoon. It makes some sense, and you can define what might be some action, but in general, it will throw you a mile out there. No other cartoon comes close to it, although some of the jazzy stuff in Peanuts is neat ... but hardly used properly within the whole cartoon ... it is just an added effect that is not necessarily tied to the story line or cartoon itself.

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
