This one was supposed to be for June, but I'll do a Spring runoff
then. Shuffle of 14000 or so resulted in this topping list. Which is
your preferred (today or this year, or forever, or whatever)? Edited by zwordser - May 29 2022 at 12:24 |

My own take: All these tracks are excellent--two of them brilliantly portray scenes in a storybook kind of way. I rank them as such: 1. Duke of Beaufoot This might be my favorite Prog Folk album, and this is one of the best tracks. Really captures a sort of Dickensian picture, and the emotional lead vocals (+female) are fantastic. 2. Preparation Its a major track on a classic Camel Album, also captures a scene beautifully with those haunting female vocals. 3. Dopo L'uragano What a powerful sound, (wish I knew the lyrics). 4. You Good track (I thought I didn't like this album much, but heard it thru again after several years, and actually really liked it).

I went through the others to see whether anything could endanger the obvious choice of Camel, but rather not. I like the Queensryche track, the vocals in Alphataurus ruin it for me, and Spyrogyra are just not my cup of tea.

Queensryche
That was a decent, enjoyable album.

I have three of the four albums represented in my collection (all but Queensr˙che) and while I enjoy the three I knew, I count the "The Duke of Beaufoot" as one of my very favourite tracks and it has been represented in various of my non-random polls over the years. A very great one, I think, off what I think is one of the very greatest albums included in Prog Folk.
Just listening to the "You" song now, and You does not seem to be remotely for Me. That embed was not working for me. |

Hmm, well the Q vid seems to be working on my end; maybe I'll see if any others can't play it either. Thanks for the repost.

^ It's a common issue that some youtube videos will not be available in some regions, and blocked by ones ISP, while others will have access.

First vote for Alphataurus. That's a classic.
