Little empathy please, imagine if someone used those for music you enjoy like Mostly Autumn or BJH...
I copied and pasted the thumbs down emoticons from my earlier post. Now you're stuck with them on your post too. Big smile

editing is hard.... LOL

I wonder why they're not more popular than it's the case, and one of the reasons might be (considering their first two albums) that their style is only little Pop-influenced comparing to the typical for Symphonic Metal.

a lot of symphonic metal is very catchy and poppy, you'd be surprised.

When done right it works, just balance the heaviness, skill, melody and I'm good. Smile

Right, not so few people seem to be happy with that, nowadays.

I'm not sure I understood what you said here.
What else is there to expect for symphonic metal?

And Aesma Daeva doesn't fit well in that pattern, so it could be a problem if this band mainly has been promoted as Symphonic Metal.

also which people are you talking about?
Symphonic metal fans are quite devoted to the genre.
Other metalheads enjoy a little bit here and there, myself included.

Whatever, I like AD's first two albums. They're very different from each other and I like them for different reasons, but I have to listen to them playing the tracks in another order than the original and skipping some. Tongue

Yes,this long-running thread has definitely got "Legs"! That could have something to do with Cristi disagreeing with my loose interpretation of Symphonic Metal, where many of the original bands in this debut albums poll didn't make it through to the second round. Too bad I couldn't include ZZ Top here too, as I'm saving them for a Boogie Rock poll.  Tongue

There's nothing wrong with a healthy dose of off-topicness now and again and I haven't seen anyone "trolling", which seems to be your way of describing friendly banter. Big smile

I've just finished listening to Aesma Daeva's intriguing third album: The New Athens Ethos, which sounds like no other Symphonic Metal album I've ever heard before, but in an entirely good way. Thumbs Up
