No, it's Rhapsody with guest Christopher Lee.

To be fair to Paul, he’s not at all inaccurate here. He says “Christopher Lee performing with Rhapsody”, which is exactly what this is. So I take it as an acknowledgment that he recognises that the two are different artists. Just as you could accurately say “here’s Jon Anderson performing with King Crimson” about Lizard. Neither statement actually says that Rhapsody is Lee’s band, or that Krimson is Anderson’s.

Paul thinks Rhapsody was Christopher lee's back up band which was never the case. Lee guested with Rhapsody. The song Paul keeps posting as proof is a Rhapsody song from 2004 so it's all nonsense here.

Lee made power metal, no Rhapsody musicians were involved though.

We’ll have to agree to disagree here. I think it’s entirely possible that Paul ONCE thought that Rhapsody was Lee’s (back up) band, but there is no way he still thinks that. He is baiting you, and you’re taking it. Even his words make no claim that this video is proof that Rhapsody is Lee’s band, note does he claim that Rhapsody is Lee’s band. You’re reading between the lines to make that inference. Paul often writes in a deliberately vague and ambiguous manner that offers the opportunity for someone to take offence. But the key there is someone is taking offence, rather than Paul being offensive. I’m not suggesting Paul has never been offensive, because he certainly has been, at times. But careful reading shows that he is often not saying exactly what people assume he is saying.

And, of course, I could be wrong. I tend to be naive and like to give people the benefit of the doubt, which is why I continue to engage with people like Paul and David and Pedro, because I don’t think they intend to be malicious or offensive, and they do often have views I agree with, or that I can learn from.

I wasn't being entirely serious when I said Rhapsody of Fire were Christopher Lee's backing band, but I think you knew that already. Wink

Paul has made this claim repeatedly that Rhapsody is Lee's band, baiting or not, He's probably having fun or something. It's an old story. He also repeatedly claims Christopher Lee plays progressive metal, again specifically baiting (guess who) me. It's not even worth correcting such nonsense anymore.

Nope. I originally said Christopher Lee was a Progressive Metal artist, but then realised I was very much mistaken, as he's clearly a Symphonic Metal singer. Embarrassed

Again, baiting much? LOL

^ I think sometimes you take the bait when Paul is not even putting it out there. I mean, he does throw out the bait a lot, but not always. And as stubborn as he can be, unlike certain others I could mention, Paul is always willing to own up to his mistakes and learn from them. I think part of the problem between you two (from what I’ve seen over the years) is that a lot is lost in translation, and what is clearly said in jest is taken literally at times. Paul has caused trouble in the past, but I don’t think he means to these days. And a lot of what he says is fairly typical humour for someone of his age in England. Over the years I’ve lived here, I’ve met a great many Pauls. Their sense of humour tends not to be one I share - but I recognise that is what it is. It possibly doesn’t come across as well, when it’s read by someone in another country. It’s not just a case of the language, so much as the familiarity of the culture. Citizens of the US and the UK speak (closely enough) the same language, but often misunderstand and misconstrue what is being said (particularly in written form) by those from the other country.

Also, Rhapsody as Christopher Lee’s backing band could well be an improvement on any of the various lineups of that band and Rhapsody of Fire! 😄🤪

This is a very interesting poll, very much discussion and really many views but only little voting - I certainly don't mind that. Big smile

I'm pointing out the baiting and the baiting is that he repeats the same joke over and over, it's not funny anymore. It maybe funny for him, but it might get tiresome or everyone else, or at least for me.

And I can give you more examples of baiting (and trolling), but I'd get of topic (we already are I feel).

Nor, I. For me polls that’s are only about the voting are not so interesting. I find the discussion underneath far more so.

There are few votes because not many listen to this genre. There are also few votes because the list of bands and albums here is rather inaccurate, with several albums that do not belong on the topic at hand.

There are 12 pages not because of a good discussion, but off-topicness.

I'd say, there's quite a lot of relevant discussion, as well.

I don’t mind off-topincness, either. The rigidity of staying on-topic of this forum is an oddity to me - and I’ve never seen it before in any other forum I have been a member or moderator of. Some of the most interesting discussion is when someone goes off on a tangent. And tangents are not necessarily off-topic, per se. They can lead to a discussion going off topic, and that is where on this forum they tend to be reined in, where other fora I have been a member or moderator for have embraced the free-wheeling discussion, and various directions it can go.

The gate keeping of topics on the PA forum is rather like the gate keeping of PA itself, I guess.

Not surprised because the OP does not care about people staying on topic.

Me too. I'm taking a different approach to polling this year, so instead of carpet bombing the PA forums with endless polls, I'm making an effort to listen to all of the albums in a poll before posting the next one in the series, which also allows  more opportunity for discussion and debate, as we've seen. Thumbs Up
