The Righteous Gemstones Season 2 9 episodes
really went downhill badly, losing the plot literally and few laughs 4/10

Inventing Anna 8 episodes
Excellent performances from Ozarks Julia Garner in the title role and Anna Chumsky (Veep) as the reporter who investigates the mysterious Russian socialite making a splash in New York high society and business. Always a good sign when I binge anything! 8/10

Reacher 8 episodes
Well made but maybe a bit too brutal even for my taste at times and never felt remotely realistic at any time. 6/10

The Servant Season 3 10 episodes
Wonderfully silly but creepy stuff from M Night Shyamalan. All credit to Lauren Ambrose's committed performance that keeps this just about on track. 7/10

Currently enjoying
Picard Season 2 (fans of the Expanse watch this!)
Peaky Blinders Final Season (will be missed)
Severance (creepy Patricia Arquette!)
Upload (quirky end of life virtual reality drama/comedy)

Anticipating the final season of Better Caul Saul, finally the Breaking Bad sequel catches up ( I assume)

Just finished series 2 of Raised by Wolves. Whilst series 1 started well, it got a bit messy later on. However, this series starts well and stays good throughout. Lots more to come as there is a lot unresolved - in fact there are some really weird events going on and it's full of mystery and intrigue.

Also up to episode 4 of the final series of Peaky Blinders. I loved Peaky Blinders, but this series is a big let down for me. There isn't actually much going on and I'd go as far to say it's really gone up its own arse - too many lingering shots, ineffective music without any substance, it all just seems so ridiculous and convoluted now. I understand the final episode will be feature length as a practice for a spin-off movie. I just hope it improves - a lot.

4 episodes in to Series 3 of Servant. Still dead weird and no wiser as to actually what is going on. Good though.

Another excellent season. The supporting cast is stellar.
From Gilmore Girls writer, producer, director Amy Sherman-Palladino.

The scene between Lenny Bruce & Midge at the end was absolutely great!
When he leads her to the stage? Agreed. My only complaint would be that the season goes by too fast. We wait till we have all episode then binge it over a week. If only they'd do a 12 or 18 episode season I'd have a bigger smile on my face.

Great show! Just finished the entire series awhile ago. It stays consistently good throughout.
Enjoy the rest of it!

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Comedy drama set in the late 50's. Abe, the father, is hilarious.

Inventing Anna. Somewhat based on a true story. SNL recently did a skit about Anna.

All done with A Discovery of Witches, 3 series in total. The final series felt like they were just going through the motions to get it done; and only 7 episodes. For all 3 series: 7/10

Completed Se02 of Upload too. I think this is another of those shows possibly affected by Covid as it felt rushed (only 7 eps) and it finished with obviously a lot more to come. 8/10

Fear The Walking Dead Season 6 2020 16 episodes

I wouldn't normally review something like this that's been going for so long but I think the writers and actors do a splendid job and the finale of S6 is scarily relevant to current events. Will say no more! 9/10

Cowboy Bebop 2021 10 episodes

An interesting live-action adaption of a Japanese anime series starring John Cho. I enjoyed it a lot in spite (or even because?!) of some truly nasty brutal violence. I thought the characters were well drawn and plenty of visual flair on offer with set pieces. 8/10

^ I'm about 4 episodes in, a lot of fun. (Slightly concerned though about how thin John Goodman looks, hope he's okay).

Righteous Gemstones (Season 2)
7.5/10

The Trailer Park Boys meets Jim and Tammy Faye with a twist of Trump thrown in just for good measure.

The Fear Index 2022 4 episodes (made by Sky TV)

Set in Geneva and based on a Robert Harris book apparently, this is a twisty tasty little thriller that kept me guessing most of the way. Josh Hartnett stars as a tech billionaire that has seemingly invented the ultimate computer program for playing the stock market. However unfolding events in his personal life are not doing him any favours and his increasing paranoia about a break in at his home takes him down a dark path. Overall nice and easy to watch (get the popcorn out) and Hartnett is very good indeed. 8/10

Just finished season 1 of Only Murders In The Building............fairly entertaining quirky comedy murder drama set in an upper west side  New York condo.
Steve Martin and Martin Short and Selana Gomez are good together but Short gets most of the good dialogue and funny jokes. He's fun to watch.
One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.

Trigger Point 2022 6 episodes

The big hype was that this was from the producer of Line Of Duty (Jed Mercurio) but actually he had very little do with it. Basically it's about a campaign of bombings in London that don't seem to add up to anything in particular. Could be just 'terrorism' but this is TV land so there has to be more to it. Stars Vicky McClure (from Line Of Duty) who for me is deeply unconvincing as are most of the characters in the show. I never believed in the characters so the tension was missing. However it's not that bad in terms of the general plot and it at least makes some sense and kept the Sunday evening 9-10 pm slot warm for Peaky Blinders  6/10

I missed Caprica, a 1.5 season spin-off prequel to the Battlestar Galactica reboot when it first came out. Really enjoyed this and the story of the Cylons' origins and what lead them to be the way they were in the reboot. Of particular interest is the mix of spacefaring civilization technology with an amalgam of steampunk-like architecture and the modernist glass Graystone mansion. It's fascinating seeing 1960s American cars, a 1960s Citroën, and what I think is a Rolls Royce from the 1960s in different scenes of the show. The diverse cast was great, most of which I was unfamiliar with prior to watching this. The exception being Teryl Rothery of Stargate SG-1 fame.

My only criticism would be that it seemed like they "jammed" too much in the number of episodes they had to work with. This could have been spread out over 3 or 4 seasons. Especially the last portion of the series finale; basically a fast-forwarding group of scenes connecting its storyline to the BSG reboot. Obviously I can't blame the creators of this as they had to deal with the SyFy network's cancellation (which has notoriously ruined a number of great shows and left some hanging - like Stargate Universe)

8.5/10
