Wow ! What can I say. This deeply melancholy murder mystery set in Easttown Pennsylvania will blow you away. I wasn't too sure how I was going to like it after the first episode but it took no time after that to get me hooked. This is a MUST SEE for everyone. Kate just nails her character to the bone and don't think you know what's going on, because you don't and you won't until the dying minutes of the series.

I must admit it all felt a bit too contrived and designed to be 'Emmy bait' for Kate Winslet . I didn't hate it but didn't like it as much as you (maybe would go 7/10)

^ and? Wink

Just finished Season 4 (Part One) of Ozark where the same actress as Inventing Anna (Julia Garner) has a significant part. There is more to come but so far its an easy 9/10 for me

I've just finished watching Inventing Anna. Really interesting. Especially taking into account that it was based on a true story. BTW, how do you watch Netflix shows? I've come across with the info on the firestick website that it can be accessible for free. Is it really possible? Has anyone done it before? Cause it's getting pricey to have all the subscriptions...

Full disclosure...I'm not much of a DC movie fan. The Tim Burton & Chris Nolan Batmans and the first Wonder Woman notwithstanding. But from the moment I saw the opening credits dance piece I was hooked. Finally a DC movie that doesn't take it self seriously but still has something to keep it interesting. This looks like the perfect vehicle for Cena. I'll be interested on where they take it in season 2

i can reccomend Doom Patrol ( all seasons) and Swamp Thing, both excellent DC propertes wuith deap interesting plot full of rwists and layers

Doom Patrol combines dadaisme ophiloophy and superhero show, 100% avant garde wierd

Yellowjackets 2021 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11041332/ - I love this sort of show. Takes place now and 25 years earlier in 1996 and tells the story of a girl's football team lost in the wilderness of Canada after a plane crash. I really thought this would be a one off, but it's clear there will be more. It seemed to take an age to watch, but it was only 10 episodes. I'm a bit unsure of the show as a whole though. There is so much mystery that you just want some answers, or even just the odd clue as to what's happening/happened. I have read there may be 5 series - wow maybe another Lost (hopefully not). In saying that, it must have its good bits as I've had it in the back of my mind for the last few days. 8/10 for series 1. PS - wth has happened to Juliette Lewis?
Oh, for the wings of any bird, other than a battery hen

Severance 2022

Obviously not finished as not all the episodes are up yet. Watched the first couple and love the dark humour ( Patricia Arquette's character is very creepy ''A handshake is available on request'' Big smile) . Intriguingly directed by Ben Stiller but so far so good.

I have not.
Now to be honest, I have no knowledge of the Reacher character as written. I only knew the Tom Cruise version but heard that the description of the character (6' + and 250 lbs) was absent from the movies. That being said I though they portrayed Ritchson's version as a little more of a meathead, even though his background would indicate otherwise. It just felt that TC's version was a little smarter. but that's just my opinion on a single pass through the series. I also found it a little hard to believe that the skinny little guy, no matter how much of a psycho he was, could land the blows and hammer Reacher like he did. I gotta believe one landed punch from Reacher would put just about anybody down handily.

not got that far yet but thanks for the Spoiler lol Wink

Sounds interesting

Lucifer Season 6 2021 (10 episodes)

I finally managed to get through it although it was hard work as much of the fun went missing about 2 seasons ago. At least they gave it a proper 'burial' and the story line was okay. 6/10

If you ignore the fact that it tries to transpose Association Football (or 'soccer' for all you yanks!!) with American Football, using terms like 'Offence' and 'Decoys' which are not a thing in soccer, then its enjoyable enough. UK comedienne Ellie Taylor is the hidden star in it. She is absolutely stunning but also could easily carry a much bigger role if needed. My plea to the script writers and producers , please do just that!

Reacher 2022 (Season 1)
Alan Ritchson
Action/Drama
7/10

What I can say is that Ritchson's portrayal of Jack Reacher is at least in line with the character as he was written. Tom Cruise certainly didn't fit the description. That being said, I found several of the fight scenes lacking in authenticity and some of the dialogue seemed a little cheesy. At least the TC film version was crafted a little better and Tom is certainly a master of action sequences. Now if they can only marry the two and bring the big screen action to the small screen story this could be a decent series. I'll reassess after season two premiers.

The Morning Show (Season 2)
Drama
Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon
7.5/10

The behind the scenes drama continues with revelation after revelation. The second season deals with the beginnings of the Covid mess and it seems almost historic. My god, was it only two years ago, it seems like 5.
Hopefully they don't dwell too much on that in the next season as all of us are more than ready to move on.

Incorporated (2016-2017 - 1 season / 10 episodes - US): Started out great. Really great. But went on only good after a couple of episodes. The feeling of despair was prevalent, as in some satirical Black Mirror episodes that portray bleak dystopias. The ending was like heralding a second season, but it didn't come. Probably because it wasn't a success in terms of popularity. Only barely more than 5K ratings on IMDb. 7/10

Lost In Space Season 3 2021
Another Life Season 2 2021

I bracket these together as they ended up being remarkably similar plot wise. I won't spoil it though if you are planning to watch either. Good characters , not that 'dark' as a lot of sc-fi can be and both look good on a decent HD TV. Job done if lacking a bit on emotional impact. Both 7/10

Final Space Season 3 2021

This animated series just gets better and better. I felt very invested in the characters and the plot lines, great job all round. 9/10

If you are a sci-fi fan you should try The Expanse if you haven't already seen it.
One of the best sci-fi shows I have ever watched.
It does take a little time to develop, the first season is a little slow.

Yes I did like The Expanse , very complex drama that works best when in space and the drama is on board the ships. When its on Earth (or some random planet) then it became less interesting to me.
