Revisiting The Rockford Files on bluray, fun show, as well as Lou Grant which doesn't hold up quite as well but has some good moments.   Re-auditing the original British Kitchen Nightmares, much better than the US version.. and rewatched The Crown, worth it.

Grantchester 2021

Not sure which season this is, but there are 7 episodes. Robson Green is quite exceptional in his portrayal of a 1950's police inspector wrestling with some terrible demons in his past. A lot of people will have this pegged as a gentle police drama set in rural England during the 50's but it's much more than that. Deals with England's terrible attitude (and laws) towards Homosexuality while even touching on the horrible experiences many suffered in Japanese POW camps (think Deer Hunter and you are not far off the mark) . Under the radar British drama at it's best. 9/10

Temple 2021 S2

Mark Strong is a very convincing as a deadpan 'underground' (literally) surgeon and an excellent supporting cast including the wonderful Daniel Mays and the Dutch actress who played the Red Queen in GOT (Carice van Houten) . Rhys Ifans also pops up as a very sinister gangster. Just nicely understated enough to retain credibility. Like it and looking forward to S3. 8/10

Loved Doom Patrol.....funny and weird at the same time.....and Warehouse 13 is one of my all time favorite guilty pleasures.
Also recommend the Umbrella Academy, Loki, and Mandalorian which I'm sure all are aware of.

The Witcher S2. Quality and acting is mostly fine, but it suffers from book adaptations like most, where the main stort is rushed and you struggle to follow what’s going on. It’s pretty people, monsters and killing, so an okay show in that aspect, but proves to not be too true to the books to cause more drama.

The Girl Before 2021 (4 episodes)

BBC psychological drama that's just landed. Excellent cast, starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and David Oyelowo and based on a book. I enjoyed it a lot and was it hit me emotionally as well. The storyline touches on sexual abuse and how its handled by the police as well as other issues such as controlling partners and dealing with guilt. So much to get your teeth into as well as twisty thriller style plot. Yes it's a bit far out there in terms of the basic premise (which I won't go into) but if you suspend your disbelief you will enjoy! 9/10

Succession S3 (2021 9 episodes)

Vying with Midnight Mass for my favourite TV show of the year, focuses on Brian Cox playing the head of a massive global business empire, while his 4 children want a piece of the pie. Cynical, caustic and funny in equal measures , the dialogue and writing is the best out there since GOT imo. HBO continue to deliver and deliver. Just like Cox's character they want stay top dog! 10/10

Invasion 2021
More epic sci-fi from Apple , or was it?! Promised much but delivered very little. Don't want to issue any spoilers but suffice to say that this could easily have been 6 or 8 episodes instead of the 10.

Brassic S3 2021

a creation of the actor Joe Gilgun and writer Danny Brocklehurst , it's a very loose idea about a bunch of friends 'larking' about in rural Yorkshire and generally getting into trouble. It's very easy to watch stuff , sometimes very funny and virtually no plot worth talking about (mainly centred around a local gangster played by Ramon Tikaram of Pennyworth fame). I suppose 7 stars is about right. Another season is apparently on the way..

Yep I'm a big fan of this weird 'biopic' of the young Catherine The Great . Nicolas Hoult is just having the time of his life , not unlike Jeremy Irons in The Borgias, another formidable show.

I've been really into K-pop lately. Absolutely LOVED It's Okay to Not Be Okay --the acting, the subject matter (mental health, childhood trauma, autism), the visuals (sets, setting, animation, and color) and costuming of Seo Ye-ji, music, and story arch were fabulous. I think it is my favorite television series of all-time!

Also, had recently seen intriguing actress Han So Hee in Nevertheless  and 100 Days My Prince so I jumped into recently released Netflix series My Name. Finished it in two days. Though it was quite violent (great fight scenes if you're into that kind of stuff), the acting of the main cast was incredible--especially the commitment Han So Hee made to the lead role. Simply amazing!

Now watching seson 2 of The Great and loving every minute of it--the cast is so incredible--every one of them--though Nicholas Hoult and Elle Fanning are so entertaining--their onscreen chemistry is so wonderful.

COBRA: Cyber War 2021 (6 episodes)

Starring Robert Carlyle as the Prime Minister , COBRA is the word used for when the Cabinet (UK Government) is urgently reconvened in time of crisis. I found it all a bit flat and lacking any real tension. Watchable mainly thanks to Carlyle and David Haig as a very slimey career politician. Also Neil Stuke is perfect as a far right opportunist trying to cash in on the general disenchantment of voters. Sounds familiar?! 6/10

^ not sure if it's come to the UK yet but that cast demands that it be watched.

Dopesick (Hulu) is a pretty good scripted recounting of the crisis started by the marketing of Oxycontin.  Though the acting is a bit stilted in the first episode, it gets better as it goes along, but never really perfect.  Michael Keaton is great and Peter Sarsgard does a good job also.  Michael Stuhlbarg is his usual creepy self.  There are also some decent performances from some of the other actors.  Executive produced by Barry Levinson and others.  The 8 episodes can be a bit uneven at times, but the characters and the character stories will keep you watching so it is quite satisfying over all.  7.5/10

Back when characterisation was just as important as special effects, and Star Trek's writer D.C. Fontana was involved; the show's interesting, thought provoking scripts sometimes borrow from Star Trek TOS, but there are enough new twists and turns to make this a real keeper for those that love quality science fiction, despite the fact that Logan's Run the tv series did not even last a full season. An example of a tv series that was "too intelligent" to survive for very long.

I keep thinking it will get a re-boot at some point. The film is great indeed but seemed to get a bit 'lost' amongst all the other sci-fi classics of the seventies (there were more than a few!)
There was a movie remake of Logan's Run a few years back, but I haven't seen it. Another short lived, but really great, 1970s science fiction series was The Planet Of The Apes; and it ran even shorter that the Logan's Run series. Such a shame, as it was a quality show.
