Hi,

I have one question!

Give this bunch of players a different name, and the album shows up with a different group name and no references to YES, or even a Roger Dean cover!

How far would you listen to it?

I can tell you that I would not listen very far, having seen a couple of these folks in the last version of YES with Chris. The singer was not very good, he did not know or understand the lyrics of anything and his theatrical "tricks" were hand and face gestures that belong in the old Greek Theater, not within rock music, unless your name is Aphrodite's Child ... maybe! It was the saddest thing I have ever seen, although it was fantastic to see Chris and Steve and Alan together, but I had seen them before at the LB Arena with TFTO and it was by far one of the best concerts I have ever seen ... pure classical music done within rock by folks that were our age ... total far out and neat ... but sadly everyone came to the show to hear the songs they already had in their records at home!

I would not have tried to redo a huge name or band ... it's ridiculous and the children all are simply fodder (and blood!) for another war and the fight for the name of the parent ... and I'm disgusted that the YES management allows this. If it were good, and on par with their best I might reconsider, but it is all second and third and has to have similar touches that the originals did, like CTTE had the same touches as Roundabout ... the whole thing is ridiculous! And just a money grab by a few people, by "hiring" musicians for a nickel!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

^ very true--I think they keep it going as Yes to help support Chris's family---
I mean what Hackett does with Genesis music is amazing--its not a tribute band it is a truly great band (Steve hires the best) who perform Genesis music fans want to hear-- perfectly.
The ARW band was a good lineup it Howe was playing guitar . With their drummer and bass player.
If only Anderson Howe Wakeman and White could just play and not call it Yes.

Yes ain't been Yes since Tormato; that said, this new album ain't Yes.....sounds more like mid-90s Asia but even less inspired.

I disagree about 90s Asia. I like the albums with Payne. Around mid 90s, they did their heaviest album - Aria in 1994 and the proggish Arena in 1996, I'd rather listen to Payne Asia than most later day Yes. IMHO, the last good album Geoff Downes did anything interesting was the last Asia album with John Payne in 2005. Obviously that means I disliked the Asia reunion albums.

Yeah, so funny story...I just went out to do some weeding on the patio in preparation for our Thanksgiving Mega Family Get Together and, as I usually do when working in the yard, I took my iPod out with me. I usually have around 200 tunes (16hrs) of random tunes on it. Only this time after a few minutes I realized I was thinking to myself "What the hell am I listening to?" . Then it hit me, oh yeah I was checking out Yes The Quest yesterday while working in the kitchen. I hadn't even realized it was Yes for several minutes. But the first thing I did notice was that I was bored with what I was hearing. Then it made sense. This experience reconfirms my first impression. One more of the greats ending on a sad note. At least I hope it's ending.
Thank you for supporting independently produced music

I don't think it's so bad. I can't say I'm enthusiastic, but I haven't skipped any track on my first listen. The second has still to happen, but it's still possible.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Is it worse that they still call it Yes (which they have the right to do as much as they want), or rather that you because of this feel obliged to listen to it? I don't mind them doing it at all, but I don't have time for it. No vote.
