allaboutjazz has nothing but positive reviews so that they don't offend people in 'the business', and their reviews are so boring and worthless.

Why just pick on Harry Bosch? If you bag his review, you should also bag the review of Prog Reviewer hdfisch, which is equally negative. Negative reviews tell us something about the music - why it is so bad (pop drivel in this case). Ratings don't.

I don't think it's fair to delete negative reviews if they don't violate any of the posted standards.


it's not just negative, I wrote a couple of negative reviews. I guess I was annoyed by those albums and wrote a couple of paragraphs to vent. 

But that review is rather rude, that is the problem. There is a difference. 

Quite honestly, I love that band and have written a number of rather positive reviews about them, but this album is 1 star no doubt and I can totally see why somebody who likes the band's earlier work can write a review like this about it.

I wouldn't really say it was rude, as the reviewer at least gave what seems to be an honest assessment of the record; nothing in the write-up seemed meanspirited, with the possible exception of the 80s jab. 

If anything, the bigger problem lies in how badly the review was written (no offense intended to the author). But I don't think that's report-worthy; either way, I'm not an admin so I can't make that call LOL

What's with all the hateful reviews from rootsq? They don't say absolutely anything about the music, it's just "overrated" and "boring" everywhere.

I notice rootsq only joined PA today and so far has only written four negative reviews of highly rated albums on here. He gives no hint of what music he likes just what he doesn’t.
