I thought about this when I compiled the list. All the Marillion albums I listen to these days whether they be Fish albums or Hogarth albums are all live albums. I can't think of one studio album they've done that is anywhere as good as the supplement live album that follows the studio album. Even the original Script album which I love is bettered by any of the bootleg live albums the band put out at the time.

Wow, a few people have BBT's folklore on their list. I just played it the other day and can't really get into it that much. Is it one of those grower albums? I like the overall sound and style but it just hasn't grabbed me yet I guess. I remember the first few times I heard Marillion's clutching at straws it didn't do much for me either but it really grew on me to the point where it became one of my all time favorite albums.

for me it's their most balanced album. Probably not as immediate as the English Electric albums but I enjoy the eclectic approach while Transit Of Venus Across The Sun has now become probably my favourite track by them.

Dark Side of the Moon
Close to the Edge
Thick as a Brick
Selling England by the Pound
In the Court of the Crimson King
Tarkus
Days of Future Passed
Leftoverture
Pawn Hearts
Misplaced Childhood

Could have added Relayer, Wish You Were Here, Animals or Foxtrot but prefered not to repeat bands when in doubt. Also not sure DOFP is really prog yet, but as a seminal album I included it, and I couldn't decide a 10th album, too many came to mind LOL

EDIT: Damn, I forgot Mike Oldfield's Ommadawn. I love Oldfield but he never comes to mind when I think of prog. Same as Popol Vuh. They're artists I love but they don't always seem to be considered part of the genre. They're usually considered New Age/World Music, etc.
