Not a huge Haken fan, but "Cockroach King" is one of the few stellar songs that I remember and praise.

Some great choices, and plenty I haven't heard yet. I appreciate the Steely Dan additions, considering those two (particularly the latter) are some of their more art rock-y compositions.
I would add King Kong by Zappa to the list, though I'm not sure I'd pick it. Especially not the Uncle Meat version. I like the one on Make a Jazz Noise Here, which is technically an amalgam of different live takes from the '88 tour. The one on YCDTOSA Vol. III is also a very obvious amalgam, since he switches live performances from throughout his various lineups, including the one at the Rainbow, very soon before he was pushed off stage by a rabid fan and fell in the pit, breaking many bones. This confined him to a wheel chair for a bit, and lowered his voice by a third. But I love that one because during a section with the '82 band, which must have also been London at the Hammersmith Odeon, he references the guy from three years ago who recited poetry when they were playing Yellow Snow, a feat which can be heard on YCDTOSA Vol I.

Great great great song. I play that guitar intro a lot when I pick up a guitar.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

King Bird by Trace is my favorite atm. It's a shame it's not on the list.

The King Will Come, and you could stick any other track with King in it and the answer would be the same.
The King Crimson and Rush tracks don't come close to this utter masterpiece.

Kamelot's Once and Future King is a great song, and surprised to see it here. I guess it is one of their "bonus tracks". I must have listened to it from a compilation album. Ah, I guess its name is The Myths and Legends of Kamelot.
There are several other songs that I love among the options, but gonna vote for Kamelot as it hasn't received any yet. |

The poll consists of whatever is in my library. Not sure if its a bonus track; I came upon several Kamelot albums a couple years ago, but admit I haven't heard them all yet. Decent prog metal I think.

^ I don't think Kamelot is prog metal at all. But a non-typical power metal.

From this list I choose Haken and Focus. Two others are Konungen Ochtrollkvinnan (The King and the Enchantress) by Gjallarhorn and this one:

Brilliant! A prog-related band, Wishbone Ash, currently leading this poll. The King Will Come is a masterpiece.

Well, the band is listed on PA under the "Progressive Metal" category. I suppose this is part of the endless debate about what is "progressive", but "not-typical" might be considered Prog. Without listening more, I don't have an opinion.
