Poll #4 in the second phase of RAC, it is time to see what happens with the 80s! Else known as the decade of Rush and Marillion. Tongue

You know the drill - have fun, vote, comment, and let's see who which album will have collected the most votes after a week!

Hard call between Moving Pictures, Misplaced Childhood, and Spirit of Eden—I'll have to give it some thought first.
I use they/them pronouns (feel free to ask me about this!)

Check out my music on my bandcamp!

1) Seasons End
2) Tales From the Lush Attic
3) Fugazi
4) Moving Pictures
5)  Permanent Waves

But there isn't a bad album on that list.

Grace Under Pressure should be in there (I'd even replace Waves with that).

No The Wake by IQ? – The Jewel by Pendragon? – Fact and Fiction by Twelfth Night? Wink

I'd probably still vote for Grace (or Signals, because Pictures will get the action), but it would make the poll more interesting.

So is a great album. The others, not so much. In fact all of PG's 80s albums are great PG3 (Melt), PG4 (Security), and So. Even his soundtracks Birdy and Passion are very good.

All Rush here are great, but Marillion "Fugazi" gets my vote

I guess I'm going with Misplaced Childhood, though it's tough between it and Moving Pictures. Yet, I would rather have voted for Script for a Jesters Tear.

You're missing one of the best prog albums of the 80s, Asia Minor's Between Flesh and Divine. I'll go with Rush, since Asia Minor's isn't here.

Great list of albums here and went with "Permanent Waves" an album that was often the soundtrack of my life as I drove around this tourist town in my late teens feeling so alive. I mean it's such a melancholic album overall but I've always loved this one more than any other.

This is a general reply to the forum users saying 'where it this band?', or 'where is this fantastic album?' - Don't forget that these are the albums voted by you in the previous stage of Random Album Clashes, where we tackled year by year the period between 1964 and 2020. So, if you supposed favorite band and/or album is missing, it's because it didn't win the RAC of the respective year, if it was included in the shortlists of 15 albums that were 'clashing' on every poll.
