I like Rush and I also like classic VDGG.

They are for me. I would list both among my favourite bands. Different music for different moods.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I guess I'm quite open regarding my tastes and dislikes in prog. So, no embarrassment on my part here. At least, I don't remember now.

Yet, I can say that I was very much disappointed about the Prog Electronic sub-genre. I mean, intriguing (for me) progressive electronic albums are as rare as hen's teeth for me. I was like, "wow man, I love electronic music and can't imagine how much I'll love its prog variant,", but sadly that didn't happen.

P.S. I've listened perhaps more than a hundred prog electronic albums, and you wouldn't want to hear my statistics and ratings, haha. Though, there are some that I really love still.

I believe The Big Generator and ABW&H are the best Yes albums since Going For The One.

I don't like a lot of prog ---think its bad music---especially bands who obviously rip off other great bands --Starcastle---and bands who w**k around with their instruments ---Like Flower Kings,  Transatlantic .Ermm

wow, interesting.

I like Big Generator and dislike ABWH.

Drama is the best post GTFO album in my opinion, followed by 90125.

They're worth a quick look on YT. Hard rock/proggy kind of mash up of Styx, and generic 70's organ driven rock, a bit of Heep, Purple etc.. Singer who looks like a mutant splicing of Kevin DuBrow, Freddie Mercury and that bloke from Dexy's Midnight Runners. One of those 'Marmite' voices too, althoug he rips off Robert Planet very well on their song When the Curtain falls.

Yeah me too. I'm a bigger Rush fan than VdGG but I like it a bit of both according to mood as Andy says.

I could hardly stand listening to Yes when I first discovered them. Hardly coped with the vocals.
However, they are among my all-time favorite bands now.

I play the tuba very badly.

It's funny, because I felt the same way about Yes when I first heard their challenging Relayer album, but then I heard the far more approachable 90125 album and I was hooked. Does It Really Happen? Yes, It Can Happen.  Smile

Only if you’re embarrassed by that.

I am a huge fan of Gene Pitney (who sang a lot of Bacharach), and the one concert of his I attended was one of my favourite gigs ever.

And I’m not in the slightest embarrassed by that! 🤗

Me too, and it's nothing to be embarrassed about at all. The wonderful music of Burt Bacharach appeals to  Anyone Who Had a Heart and anyone who doesn't like his music can just Walk On By. Heart

An all time great composer, not embarrassing (but not a prog secret though).

Is Burt Bacharach prog?
