From the list either Nicolas Copernicus whom saw and thought certain things nobody else saw or thought similar sensoral or rational activeties, wich revolutionized how we later viewd things related to the world. Or Marie Currie she is awesome.

Other poles, pope Johannes Paul and skii jumper Kamil Stock

Lech Walesa

I don't know Kamil Stock, but I like the idea of a poll where a Pole using ski poles is in pole position in a ski race at the South Pole. Smile

In the absence of an 'up the pole' option, I'll go for the stripper pole.

Koppernigk, even though he was actually a German. Other suggestion: Poles Apart.

Copernicus, just because I have fond memories of calling myself Copper Knickers when I was a wee sprog. I don’t know how old I was (probably around seven or eight, I would guess), and was interested in finding out about other people named Nicholas. Reading a name and not knowing it, means also not knowing how it is pronounced. I assumed it was pronounced Copper Knickers, and no one ever corrected me. It was years before I found out how it was meant to be pronounced. 🙄

First thing that sprang to mind when seeing the name of this thread..and also inspiring a little if wholly futile hope in that it was about early French electronic act Pôle
A tad pole for me.
