Interesting approach to a poll and kind of confirms the 'high water mark' of prog debate. Although I agree with the big six thesis, 1975 was the last vintage year for prog but that came largely from outside the big six (KC split, ELP on hiatus, etc.)

...And dare I suggest it, Pink Floyd about to enter the Waters dominated (as opposed to Waters lead) era?

You may dare, though Animals is outstanding.

How about a poll on the "Big Six" in the 80s?

It's one album that I've always found a bit cold and bleak to be honest, as good as the individual tracks are (especially Sheep & Dogs). The change was in Roger's attitude, as (in my opinion) this is where he started telling us what to think.

I would say the only Waters dominated albums are The Wall and The Final Cut, and that didn't happen until '79. Wish you were here was a group effort all right, and Animals has Dogs, which was mostly composed by Gilmour, as I understand it, having Waters credits because, as always, he wrote the lyrics... and that song takes nearly half the votes, and as proved by the polls that have been made lately, it's the most beloved song on that supposedly Waters dominated album.

And nice bump. I'll go with the '71 vintage.

Seems I already voted when the poll first came up, but can't remember what.
Probably/hopefully 1973 because of SEbtP / LTiA / TDSotM / BSS.
